I expect us to get past Wisconsin, lose one of Auburn/Florida but honestly anything after that I have no idea.

And Reese Davis. LSU needs to get some people hired at the mothership.

State's best "win" against LSU in the last three decades was their 19-6 loss against us in 2011. Color me not worried about the #dakfense.

difficult games like State, AU and UF;

while i understand the tendency to scoff at the idea, UF will be much improved and at home and this will probably be the best state team we've faced in a decade.

AU on the road as well. i don't even think we'll be favored in that one.

Of the ESPN prognosticators, I think he is probably the best and thought his analysis is likely spot on.

I disagree. He's a douche and should stick to trying to project strength of schedule formulas. His analysis is nothing special.

Given so many unknowns, I don't think three losses would be a bad year at all.

I think we lose to Bama, either Auburn or Florida, and either State or Ole Miss...

As has been the case every year, you can bet your arse that Miles will pull something the results in at least one loss out of the aforementioned games.

SECn is not the mothership. Davis and Edwards have a much bigger voice and like it or not sway public perception and yes voters also. Hopefully the committee is hermetically sealed.

Bookmark this. Next year, Brad Edwards will say that we are too inexperienced on the offensive and defensive lines to compete. The year after he will say we're too inexperienced at the skill positions and back 7. Set your clock to it. Someone needs to tell Brad that kids move on in college football. He acts astounded by that fact annually in re: LSU.

Said that one true freshman is not an issue at either QB, WR or RB...but that when all are being depended on, the likelihood is that there is a mental breakdown and that results in losses in close games against good teams.

what an ignorant assumption

Looks like Brad Edwards' annual lamenting that LSU is young at key spots is out again. Brad hasn't thought LSU was significantly experienced enough this decade. Funny how that experience never hurts his analysis of others in the conference.

I think he underestimates how good our running game will be. I think it will be better than Georgia's and Alabama's.

As for State, we get them at home. I don't think they can win in Tiger Stadium. Fournette and Magee are going to go nuts in that game.

Auburn is always a tough game for us. But, if we win the turnover battle, we'll win that game.

Florida? Les Miles and Jimbo may cause Coach Boom to be unemployed after this season.

Let's take a look at the college football analysts on ESPN...

- Ray Bentley
- Todd Blackledge
- Ed Cunningham
- Joey Galloway
- Rod Gilmore
- Brian Griese
- Kirk Herbstreit
- Lou Holtz
- Borck Huard
- Brad Edwards
- Danny Kanell
- Shaun King
- Mark May
- Matt Millen
- David Norrie
- Jesse Palmer
- David Pollack
- Chris Spielman
- Andre Ware
- Desmond Howard
- Todd McShay
- Paul Finebaum
- Robert Smith

Rece and Fowler aren't considered analysts, but hosts, hence their exclusion.

Only two individuals on this list have approximately zero experience playing collegiate football (or football at ANY level). Yet, for some reason, we're graced with their wisdom on ESPN.

Need a hint? They both fawn over Alabama.

First of all, i highlighted state as the difficult game and laughed.

Second of all,

Very few programs are considered to be perennial contenders like LSU. So, it's natural to be more critical because the expectations are higher. It comes with the territory. I don't mind it. In fact, it's flattering.

LSU will just have to figure out how to keep their entire team from losing players year to year so Brad will be ok with their chances and that HCB will understand the point being made.
