Heard him talk about LSU this morning.

Summary:

- Expects us to lose two or three in September or October;
- reason is that we are young a critical positions and the scheduled is frontloaded with difficult games like State, AU and UF;
- said the defense should be better;
- insinuated that we are starting a true freshman QB several times;
- Said that one true freshman is not an issue at either QB, WR or RB...but that when all are being depended on, the likelihood is that there is a mental breakdown and that results in losses in close games against good teams.

Of the ESPN prognosticators, I think he is probably the best and thought his analysis is likely spot on.

I think this is a growth year with 2015 being the year we make another run at a national championship.

What if we "survive" September and October?

Good thing the games are played on the field and not in some studio in Bristol, CT.

Except Brad Edwards will very likely this time next year state LSU will lose three games in Sept or Oct. I'm sure he's a good fellow,but his glasses are too Crimson. Needs to discredit LSU to stay popular with his minions.

He is right. Doesn't matter who starts at QB there will be mistakes. If the defense improves and helps with field position that could save us. We haven't had that since 2011 really and people don't realize how key that was then. The RB position is fine. It's the one that it doesn't matter how much experience you have. Wr will be ok. There is enough talent to overcome experience after a few games. I don't expect to air it out so that may not be a huge factor.

So it comes down to QB management during the game and avoiding costly turnovers. The schedule has 5 tough games with only 2 in Tiger Stadium with 3 others that you need to come to play. There are easily 2 losses in there and based on experience you can figure a third like ole miss last year where we fall apart.

no one expects miles to get a team to overachieve.

it's a good analysis, but it could be all wrong. this team is capable of competing for, if not winning the SEC.

I think State is due and will have their best team since the 1990s...and then we play Auburn and Florida on the road in consecutive weeks. Given our unknowns, I think only the most homerish of homers could not see that there could be losses in that slate of games.

I understand the WR comments, but as far as RB goes LF isn't getting 30 carries a game. We have 2 experienced backs that make that argument invalid. As long as we have Cameron, I trust our QBs will develop quite nicely.

With the Oline and LF, i think we field an insanely dominant running game which will mitigate exposure of our young QBs and keep the pressure off.

When you have that, all you need is a good defense. We have that too.

'ship.

I've been hearing this almost every year since about 2005. I'll believe it when I see it.

Looks like Brad Edwards' annual lamenting that LSU is young at key spots is out again. Brad hasn't thought LSU was significantly experienced enough this decade. Funny how that experience never hurts his analysis of others in the conference.
