Box needs an upgrade

Looking around at the newer college baseball stadia in the country, it’s time the Box was upgraded. Simple things like painting the damn gray concrete you see in every camera shot would be an easy start. The dugouts look unfinished as does the entire grandstand. The cheap looking bleachers in the outfield need to be replaced with permanent structures, perhaps even doing something like State and adding skyboxes and a party porch would be aesthetically pleasing. Permanent seats down the lines that are bricked-in would give it an old-time feel. I don’t mind the ads but at least make the fence all one color (green) and the ads in white for some congruency. A berm in the outfield is a dumb idea due to the amount of dirt you’d have to move. Intimidator is embarrassing - take it down.
Hopefully Woodward puts this near the top of his facilities priority list behind a renovated or new PMAC, new Bernie Moore, and new natatorium.

The Box needed an upgrade the day it was built. LSU did a terrible job and just went as cheap as they could

They went cheap on Alex box when they built it and it shows. Most ballparks have a deck you can walk around down the left and right baselines. There is no real “ballparkish” feel to the box

I'm glad our baseball team is in a position that the people who HAVE to find something to complain about, have to stoop to this level to do it.

The idea when it was built was to make it feel like the old box, only bigger. If we still played there you’d be crucified for saying one bad word about it.

Needs to be upgraded badly. Just don’t let the OP design the upgrades
For the crowd asking if we’d pay more for tickets- save it. Somehow the rest of the SEC can afford to upgrade their parks and not charge out the arse for tickets. LSU leads the nation in paid attendance and is one of only a few programs that can turn a profit. It’s not an issue of having enough money it’s an issue of being willing to invest it

No one complains about the old box. They revere it. But now that it’s bigger and newer people call it cheap. What a load of BS indeed.

Mississippi State was so much smarter than LSU when they dealt with their baseball field. Alex Box is an embarrassment.

i think iit's fair to say LSU did a less than outstanding job with the new Box
But if you're embarrassed by the display of LSU's baseball prowess over the years then I don't know what to say to you.

If we still played there people would accept the flaws that the old Box had. As much as it pains me to say I hate the new box. It has none of the charm and seldom ever feels like the Old Box. It doesn't play like the Old Box even though the dimensions are the same. I will get blasted for this, but many others feel the same. Some of these things can be fixed. Remove the bleachers and build the grandstands out to the foul poles on both sides. You gain better seating in making it all chairbacks but you also gain space under the stands or offices, training rooms, media rooms or whatever. Blah Blah Blah I don't care about under ground utilities. Find a way to put a berm in the outfield somewhere. Put a walking deck all the way around the stadium. Explore moving the fences in to get the stadium to play like the Old Box and turn it into the launching pad the old stadium was. Don't give me this bullshite about where will the money come from to do all of this. It will come from the TAF and football profits like everything else. If they can find the money to build brand new top notch facilities for these split tail programs like soccer, softball, Gym, and sand volley ball surely they can find it to upgrade a program that actually pays its own bills.

They wanted to keep it as similar to the old box but bigger and to upgrade the player facilities.
LSU has the best player facilities in the country and that’s the number one thing you need for recruiting. Now they can figure out ways to upgrade the fan experience.
