Pro Football Focus had LSU receivers with 7 drops. Nobody wants to talk about that. That is an issue.
Because they are not expecting the ball. Daniels has a difficult time reading coverages and our plays have limited WR sets and long developing. Nobody is happy with this style of offense.
We need to play to Daniels strengths and we do not do that.

Y’all boys are sad. Just sad. I get it when people say LSU fans are the worst. It’s embarrassing.

4-1 (2-0) is the only stat that matters.
Betting men comfortably having LSU at 4-6 (2-5) in about 6 weeks is a reality that should matter.

Our QB cannot get them the ball and our OC cannot design plays to get them the ball. It's ridiculous that Jake fricking Peetz had the ability to do this but not Denbrock.
They are playing the quarterback that they picked. They had options It’s on them that he can’t find open receivers.

Jake Peetz did nothing of the sort

I just watched the first half of the game, in slo mo on every play on offense.
I truly believe that was the worst offensive performance by every player I have seen in 65 years of following LSU football.
The OLine was awful, especially our left guard and center.
Our pass patterns were literally 4 and 5 receivers running 3-5 yard patterns. they literally ran to wherever the defender was and turned around, and this was on 3rd and 10 or more situations. Mind boggling.
JD literally stopped looking downfield after 1.5 seconds 90% of the time, and ran right into the center of the Dline. His running talent allowed him to evade tackles of 2-3 occasions.
The biggest problem that I see with JD is that he doesn't understand leverage by a receiver. Burrow was a master of that, and when he had a receiver with inside or outside leverage, Burrow threw the ball inside or outside and his great receivers caught more than they didn't. Our receivers appear to have the size, speed and talent to do that also, but JD refuses to throw a pass to a receiver unless he is literally wide open. I don't know if our coaches coach leverage or not. I would think they would, but JD doesn't get it...therefore we run 3-5 yd pass patterns and can't complete most of those.
One thing I noticed also is that both Fla St and Auburn defensive backs pressed our receivers or within 3 yds at snap. LSU defenders do just the opposite. In face, when LSU had auburn 3rd and 6 on their own 5 yd line, LSU defenders were a minimum of 6 yds off the receivers at snap, but the slot receiver didn't have a defender within 10 yds and he easily caught a 6 yd pass where the defender was 5 yds away on completion. That play led to a 6 play 99 yd td drive. Are our defensive backs so slow that they are afraid of giving up the deep throw no matter the down/distance. Auburn sure wasn't.
86 is not a good blocking TE. Bech couldn't possibly block any worse, and he is a much better receiver. 7 is open on long slants a lot when JD is throwing 3 yd out patterns to 86. Just ridiculously bad qbing. If JD couldn't run he would be completely useless.
I hope the 2nd half is more encouraging. The first half was simply as bad as I've ever seen. IF we play the same way in our next 5 games, it is going to be really ugly. Just my observation. Nothing more.

We need to play to Daniels strengths and we do not do that.
So basically just bring in two TE's on each side of the tackles and move the 2 Wr's close to the Te's. Do we need Fullbacks as Well? Hoping Kelly can bring in Barry Switzer to teach us the wishbone. I mean that is Daniels only strength running the ball.

If a wide receiver isn't expecting the ball that's nobodies fault but the wide receivers. What a ridiculous excuse.

Ahhh, the 15 year old question. First thing new coach does when he gets here, reverts back to the 15 year old problem

Why is it sad. Boutte has dropped as many as he’s caught
Posted on 10/3/22 at 4:36 pm to ElRoos
Bech, I don't get what is going on there. I haven't gone over the numbers for the last 2 games but through the first 3 Boutte had the most targets but the 4th or 5th most catches. But lets blame everyone but Boutte. Many, if not most were drops. Including TD drops.

He could sling it around, like Peetz did, and we’d have a ton more receiving yards, receiving TDs, and losses. I guess you’d be happy, though?

I think Brian Kelly thought he could turn Daniels into an actual dual threat QB.
JD is simply too set in his ways to be anything other than what he is.
I'm not saying he should be benched, but Kelly and Denbrock need to make sure Nuss is a viable option. JD has now gotten hurt two straight games.
We're gonna need Nuss more and more as the season wears on.
I agree 100%. Daniels isn't going to change, so does that force Kelly to make a change at some point?

Nabers is ho GO-TO receiver.
M. Taylor is his favorite target. I have no idea why Taylor even plays so much, let alone why so many passes come his way.
