Here is a summary at a point that I was getting at earlier how combining LSU, LSUHSC, and Pennington's research #'s would provide an immediate boost for LSU.
quote:
In 2023, the most recent year data is available from the National Science Foundation, LSU spent $384 million on research, which ranks 83rd among universities. LSU Health Shreveport spent $35 million, and LSU Health New Orleans spent $68 million. Adding their amounts to LSU Baton Rouge would elevate it to the 69th (nice) slot, overtaking Carnegie Mellon University, a member of the Association of American Universities.

Thrown in is that for reporting purposes they are combining LSU, LSUHSC, and Pennington as a unified system under Dalton as VP and Chancellor. This should provide an immediate boost in LSU's national rankings as these were previously separate entities.
This won’t happen, at least not officially. All institutions in the system have their own unique campus identifiers with the federal government and have to report separately. The exception is Ag and Pennington because they don’t have students, so their research activity and personnel are already reported with the flagship’s data.

How was he impressive? He kept a low admissions standard.

Ah, didn't realize it was that complicated and Ag and Pennington were already being reported under LSU.

Could they just reassign new campus IDs? I would imagine having a single chancellor might make this easier.

That kind of change would require approval from the federal government, state government, accrediting bodies, and unprecedented organizational changes. Absolutely no way that happens.

Verge and Shoyer aren’t going to be ADs
Insider on ON3 think we land a different but reputable AD pretty soon
It's gonna be Verge. Just wait and see.
Our search for the best available AD is gonna end up with Verge being promoted. I don't trust that LSU is not gonna frick this up.

Tate was a wolf in sheep’s clothing destroying this university with DEI
His promotions and hires to key positions along with Tate and one of his hires helping to research and write a paper on Southern being shorted state funding were issues on top of his admissions goals.
People blame and back date the the voluntary ACT and SAT on Alexander, but LSU reporting has often included the fine print - “Beginning with the Fall 2021 cohort, test scores only include students who elected to have test scores considered during the admissions and scholarship decision process”. Holistic might not have always meant these scores were completely voluntary before fall of 2021. In fact when I looked at same reporting for fall 2020 freshman class “required” was checked off for ACT or SATs. Tate may not have had job until May of 2021 (or officially started until July 1st), but his first freshman class in fall of 2021 is where this policy had its first effect on enrolled freshmen classes. Don’t know if interim guy meant for it to be permanent or who else was involved in that, but Tate at least left it as is.
It was Tate’s exploitation of that admission policy that created current campus situation by increasing admission numbers using out of state and/or DEI enrollees (some crossover there) which were always masked by being allowed to compare voluntary ACT scores to mandatory scores, later compare ACT super scores to historic ACT composite scores, and push inflated GPAs due to ACT and SATS not being mandatory for admissions, for honors college, and for university controlled or funded scholarships.
The % of the enrolled new freshman students actually reporting/submitting ACT/SAT scores to use for admissions and scholarships declined to 47% by the fall of 2024.
Of the 4,162 enrollees out of the fall 2024 freshman class (53%) who did not submit either an ACT or SAT for admissions, honors college, or for consideration for LSU funded or controlled scholarships:
* 43.1% reported a 4.0 GPA. (Of total enrollees reporting 4.0 GPAs the 4.0 enrollees who did not submit ACT or SAT scores outnumbered the 4.0s who submitted ACT/SAT scores by more than 600)
* Almost 63% reported a 3.75 GPA up to & including a 4.0 GPA. (Of total enrollees reporting 3.75 GPAs or above the enrollees who did not submit ACT or SAT scores outnumbered the ones who submitted ACT/SAT scores by just under than 600)
* Almost 78% reported a 3.50 GPA up to & including a 4.0 GPA.
Who knows what fall 2025 will look like as LSU has gone silent on demographics unlike previous September/October press releases after fall census date.

I posted this on the OT but will post here as well.
LSU had a guy whose research revolved around CRT running LSU main campus LSUHSC NO LSU HSC S and Pennington.
We now have a guy who has been the inventor on over 400 patent applications running those institutions.
Massive upgrade.

Why haven’t any of the New Orleans television stations carried any of this?

Academics has no place in the academy....
Look at the students on campuse and their majors, drop out rate. It correlates with test scores.

This is just more of the same dysfunctional Louisiana sewer politics. The man who undoubtedly helped to cover up the Title iX hijinks is now the AD. Geezus H. If you thought that "Woody" and A$$hat were bad, hold on to your hats.

Has anyone heard why a female board member was the sole NO vote on the hiring of Rousse and Dalton?

Dr. Robbins Was the Most Qualified no doubt
But I think the decision was already Made..
All of them where Better choices than William Tate

It is time LSU raises academic standards to match the fervor of the LSU athletic department. We want National Championships in sports, but we lower academic standards to chase government student loan funds. Other states have such better secondary and primary educational system that prepare students for higher education. Not so much here in
Louisiana! Let's hope the new Admin raises academic standards at the flagship university. A rising tide lifts all boats. If we want kids to remain in Louisiana, we need to elevate academic standards.
