If he was still on it, it wouldn't be considered that absurd in 2023. The time value of these contracts is crazy. It's an arms race.

The extension was absurd.

I don’t care about Jimbo’s pay, good for him. I relish in seeing Aggie tears.

aTm created their Jimbo dilemma. Keep him & pay an exorbitant amount of money for mediocrity -or- pony up $77 mil to send him packing. But then what, who do they hire?

Let's not forget who actually created this dilemma... It was Woody! Hopefully BK doesn't turn into the second monster dilemma he's created!

Fans were nice ( easy to be nice when you win ) . Only one drunk frat boy who said " I hate f***ing Texas " to my wife. She responded " So do we , you're playing Texas A&M "
Stadium infrastructure is horrible. You need to be part billy goat to get to the upper level seats. Enjoyed the piss troughs ( flashback to Old Kyle ). Concourses are the size of an American Eagle plane's aisle. Pretty campus, generally friendly. The Market Square area is pretty cool. Nashville is a blast, Broadway bars are a lotta fun . I'll go back there to whip up on Vandy, getting tired of being disappointed almost everywhere else.

What Aggie doesn't love a good piss trough?

I’ll help you here, just so you know, in case you forgot! Woody’s been here since 2019, this was in 2021.

Texas A&M, Jimbo Fisher agree to 4-year extension through 2031 and raise
By Sam Khan Jr.
Sep. 1, 2021
Texas A&M and football coach Jimbo Fisher have agreed to a four-year extension that will see his annual salary raise from $7.5 million to $9 million, the school announced on Wednesday afternoon. The new contract was approved at a board of regents meeting on Wednesday.

The Houston Chronicle was first to report the news of Fisher's extension.

Fisher, 55, has been with the Aggies since December of 2017 when he signed a 10-year, $75 million contract. The new extension, which like his initial contract is fully guaranteed, will keep the coach in College Station through 2031. The terms of the new contract include an annual salary of $9 million starting on Jan. 1, 2022, and will increase to $9,150,000 on Jan. 1, 2023. In each of the following years, the base salary increases by $100,000 on Jan. 1.

In three seasons at the helm at Texas A&M, Fisher has compiled a 26-10 record. Before that, Fisher coached Florida State for eight years, leading the Seminoles to a national championship in 2013.

In 2020, Texas A&M finished with a 9-1 record and an Orange Bowl victory.

I'm so glad he got his contract in 2021. We can be thankful for the Woodward and Jimbo connection because I really think A&M AD was worried that Woodward would come knocking. I'd like to think the Woodward would've stayed away from Jimbo, but maybe not

Woody had interviewed Kelly when he was up at UDub. He knew who he wanted to get. This was a done deal, way before anyone knew. The folks were following air flights out of BTR. Woody had this one, from the get go!

In 2018 the multiple OT game Joe Burrow lost, the team never forgot it. This year, I expect much of the same. Payback is gonna be hell.
