It will be tough for him to see the mound again.

He needs a 12/6 spike ball and 70 mph change up that he can command for strikes. He has to reinvent himself.

He can and will be serviceable on weekends. One time through the lineup he’s usually pretty good. He needs to throw the Chang up more and he needs to get the fastball up to 95. He cannot live at 92. His breaking ball is good, but he needs to bounce it behind the plate at least a few times once he has two strikes.

Lots of people ragging on Money but I actually thought he looked better last night. His curve looked good. He's just never gonna be a guy that can get you 4 outs in an inning. If we can rely on him to be solid for 1 inning of relief per weekend I think that's a win

He’s good for eating a few innings in mid week games. Would you rather Shores or Little have to eat mid week innings?

Let me clarify, in meaningful weekend innings. Curve looked good, fastball was down. Right now, his stuff won’t cut it against good teams.

He will have meaningful weekend innings. I think yall are over reacting a bit. His meaningful innings won't be high leverage, but he will be someone who can come in with a 5-6 run lead and eat up 3 innings to save some higher leverage bullpen arms.

I noticed that too. Did you notice his arm action is different also. Looks like he shortened his arm action. Not saying that has anything to do with velocity but just something I noticed.

I thought he looked better and his breaking ball was improved over last year. Money tends to let his FB get up and catch too much plate. With his velo down location becomes crucial for him. Those bombs he gives up are straight meat up in the zone.

They changed his delivery to help hide the ball. Velo may or may not tick back up as he adjusts to it. But, I'm not worried about the velo. I think Money looks fine - he's obviously not going to be an ace but he can provide some valuable bullpen outs/innings and I wouldn't be completely spooked if he had to make an emergency start in late portion of post season play when things get wacky.

I thought his night should have ended after going through the order once, but I understand keeping him in and pushing his pitch count up, making him work through things, etc.

I missed Collins pitching, did he look better or is he still way off?

They've already said Herring's role will increase. I think Dutton could help on the weekends too. Even if he's just the get-hot-quick guy to finish an inning and let someone else come in fresh.

It’s going to be batting practice against good teams. He’s already given up 4 XBH in 9.2IP ( 2 HR, 2B, 3B).

His ERA is at 5.31 over the last two seasons. How does he look fine

I’m not worried because I don’t think he’s going to pitch in any type of high leverage situation unless they really really really get behind the 8 ball

Collins was shaky with that curve. He threw it outside and in the dirt a bunch. Walked a guy and kept getting behind to guys

Money's fastball is just so hittable. There's no run or movement whatsoever. It doesn't miss a lot of barrels. I do think he can give us 2+ out of the pen and get through the order once. That's his ceiling IMO.

Collins is all over the damn place. Unusable at this point.

Money retired the first 9 he faced last night. Looked fine to me. Again, is he an ace? Of course not.

Look at his lines this year. Solo homer against W Michigan. Big deal. He struck out the side, by the way. 3 innings, 1 hit, 0 runs, 5 ks over the next month. Not much usage, not much comps, but those are fine numbers. Not great, not bad against A&M strictly in there to not give up a crooked number. Retired the first 9 last night, then had a crooked inning started on a fly out to cf.

Good k/bb ratio. Not the worst whip.

It's fine, especially for a guy that is working on a completely new delivery.

He’s fine for a guy that is the 10th pitcher on your roster. That’s about it.

Opponents slugging .455 of him. That’s really high. He hadn’t thrown against anyone of note either.

Hitting .182 against him, and that includes a pop out to CF, ruled a double, that Crews lost, ignited a 4 run inning. We can do this all day long. He looks fine. Collins does not look fine.

I'm with you on both of these guys. The more concerning thing about Collins curveball accuracy is that his fastball accuracy is even worse right now. He is missing bad and the misses aren't consistent either. He will spike one fastball 3 feet in front the plate, next fastball is a strike, then the next is high and out. It is all over the place.
