Why in both of our losses this year did you abandon what was working on the most crucial drives that resulted in points that lost you the game ? Why are you so hell bent on running a soft zone in crunch time when it’s so damn clear this is a man coverage attack unit ? You have a truly elite lockdown cover corner in DJ Pickett , you have a damn good no.2 in woodland , a stud in Benefield and good cover safeties in Thomas and Cooley. Let your athletes be athletes that’s when this defense is at its best it’s maddening.

Reality is baker has to look in the mirror and realize he isn’t the tactician he thinks he is and just needs to stick to his identity of being aggressive and trusting your backend that’s when this defense has thrived not when he tried to run complex soft deep zone concepts .

He’s not going to change. Haven’t we learned enough about the stubbornness of coaches by now?

We need big money alum saying LSU is cut off is they see that soft zone again unless we are up by 3 TDs in 4th with 6 minutes left

soul searching

He should look for it 8 to 10 yards from the line of scrimmage where our DB’s can always be found.

Got plenty of crows around Butte la Rose to serve the fair weather coaches here. If not I will eat the crow myself.

Or just open his bank app and look at the number. That'll help him forget his worries.

He is who he is at this point. He’s not going to change. He’ll do well in the Sun Belt.

It’s not just this year. He’s been doing it here since BK lost to FSU the first time. He’s a younger version of 3rd and Chavis

I think I the only hope for this season is the offense improving enough to limit the D being in pressure situations. Have to run the ball better, imo by using Leavitt as a runner more to threaten the backside and take pressure off of the oline.

We need a gofundme banner to fly this over the football ops building. I'll contribute the first $20

Chavis did this fewer times in his career than Baker has done this in a much shorter time span. Chavis did this to Alabama x 2 and Clemson. I genuinely think people forget how good his defenses were.

I agree with you. But this is widespread. Almost every defensive coordinator does this. It's stupid, but it's true.

He needs to consult with Saban on how to fill the gaps in his game

The last few years of Saban he did the same thing because of fear of running QBs

No soul searching involved.

I saw the Saints under Jim Mora do the same thing over and over 30+ years ago, and lose 1-score games doing it.

Chavis did it here. Ask TJ Yeldon how Bama beat LSU in 2012.

It’s drilled into coaches that’s what to do, and there’s no changing minds.
