Nice so fix that and only give up 500 yards a game

706 minus 288 would be 418

It's sad when basic math is screwed up this bad.

That's it? Seemed like more...

Well this is a great example of statistics. There were not more missed tackles because there were so many blown coverages, they were not in a position to make a tackle.

Excellent point. Also someone said that giving up 400+ yards before contact is not so swell either.

That sort of effort should earn a place on the bench.

From Lonn Sullivan:

“LSU Freshman LB Whit Weeks was relegated to the bench until the Tigers' defense had already allowed 28 points. Once he came on the field, he became the team's highest rated defender by PFF College, made 9 tackles (8+ in all 3 starts), 1.5 TFLs, 2 QB Hits & 6 total stops (negative plays caused by tackle).”

I can tolerate a lot when it comes to LSU football, but historically bad defense is not one of them. I mean, that was the so bad it was almost impressive. I mean, you have to almost try to be that bad at the D1 level.

288/700 so roughly 40% of the yds came after broken tackles. Thats pretty terrible.

disgusting.
With the amount of money the coaches are paid, and with the amount of time available in the spring and preseason, I can't comprehend how they march that crap out on the field and don't have a fundamental skill like tackling instilled in the players.

Risky decision by Kelly to pull a stunt like this. It’s one thing to constantly throw players under the bus to cover for your shitty DC but it’s an entirely different level when you lie to do it.

Never seen such horrible pursuit angles in my life. There’s middle schoolers that play better defense than LSU did against Ole Miss. They need to be doing tackling/ pursuit angle drills for half of their practices this week.

That's on Brian Kelly and his DC. That is systemic. Get new defensive coaches. Across the board.

I’m no fan of House, but the players were put in position to make plays.
They didn’t.

Coaches coach, players play.

These are the same players that quit in the middle of the Florida State game.

Now if you want to criticize the coaches for personnel decisions, cool. They deserve criticism.

But frick sakes man, our tackling was non existent.

Now that that's figured out, can we have the DBs get in front of the first down marker, that way the wrs don't get a 1st down before anybody gets close to them?

So the defense should only have given up 450 yards or so if they missed no tackles and you are assuming they stop them after those plays an no additional plays are run.

BK said these were included in the stats

I thought he said the exact opposite, that those 34 missed tackles only included times that they made contact and couldn’t bring someone down.
