Kinda nice to see that so many in this thread don’t know what it’s about.

But does that mean polian will still be over special teams? He can have another title and still be involved in recruiting which he’s actually good at.
I just want you to know, this thread has nothing to do with the ST coach

While watching Notre Dame’s bowl game, it was mentioned that Polian was there and how he’s supposed to be a tremendous recruiter.
Later I heard it mentioned how the Irish’s special teams coach this season had done such a great job, being one of the top teams in blocking punts. So their special teams improved. Maybe LSU’s special teams will get better if someone can replace Polian and just let him recruit.

Well then that's worrisome moving forward that you keep your ST coach after seeing that he still sucks balls in game 14 of the year.
To play devils advocate, he said they were all coming back, but didn’t say they’d all retain their positions.
There’s also been talk that LSU will lose at least one assistant and an analyst will be promoted, so I wouldn’t say Kelly’s comment is 100% true either.

Polianna and Hankton still on staff?
Posted on 1/3/23 at 8:32 am to StevieG504
How did you all expect him to answer that question? Did you think he was going to say, minutes after the bowl game, that certain people won't be on the staff next year.

Why would Hankton not be on staff anymore?

Tbf to Polian we did improve. ST was at rock bottom at one point, wouldn’t even attempt to catch a punt. Looked competent today.
People also need to understand that going into the season, our coaches didn't know who our best players were by and large. Usually you aren't putting a ton of starters on special teams. As we build up our depth more, that will trickle down onto special teams.
When your team is low on depth, your weakest group will probably end up being special teams.

Can we get Polian a team of analysts?
This.
Some depth at TE, LB, and Safety would help some, as well. They tend to play a lot on Special Teams. That at least been partially addressed in recruiting and the portal so far.

You mean the train story was fiction?
Correct, but we do have one gullible catastrophe syndrome leaning fan base that invites this garbage.
