Cannon ran the 100 yard dash in 1/10 of a second off the World Record - 9.4 secs! You guys never saw Cannon in his prime. I stood next to him at LSU track meets. He was a man! In SEC track meets Cannon would win the 100, anchor the winning 440 relay, win the shot put and the discuss. Can you think of any other athlete in any time period who could do that?

Both Taylor and Cannon were trained by Alvin Roy, but it seems as though he trained Cannon first (despite Cannon being younger) because Roy got his start at Istrouma High: LINK.

EDIT: Jimmy Taylor, like Warren Rabb, went to BRHS.

I am the same age as Cannon. Were you at SEC track meets as a high schooler??

Warren Rabb lived in the apartment just above mine during our senior year - saw Cannon all the time when he came to visit Warren. When dressed in street clothes you would never suspect he was such an athlete.

Top 10 (at the time they were at LSU, not comparing them with each other):

Cannon
PP7
Faulk
Kennison
Michael Brooks
Landry
Robert Royal (FB and BB)
Marcus Spears (FB and a little BB)
Webster
Doucet

Notice how all of these guys have had or still are having long NFL careers.

Cannon ran the 100 yard dash in 9.4 seconds - still slower than Holiday, but look at the other differences between the two!
