Biggest disappointment: tie between the extra inning collapse on the mound in G1 and Hurd's performance in G3. We gave up 8 runs in 25 innings for the rest of the series and 8 in that one inning. And I was really hoping to see Hurd take that next step forward as an SEC starter and it didn't happen.

Most pleasant surprise: Ty Floyd in G2 pitched with toughness (think Alex Lange) and 5 and 1/3 innings of shutout ball after the 1st against a good hitting Arky squad. And we needed that.

Disappointment: base running discipline in the first game. Things like that are crucial in tight series. But Jay is an aggressive coach so you have to take the good with the bad.

Surprise: the bullpen closing out the final two games, especially Edwards. Huge clutch performance.

Baseball:

Disappointment: just too many missed opportunities game #1 and Bullpen falling short.

Upside: huge wins with excellent Pitching and to see Tommy White come back after looking depleted game 2 and rip open a can in game 3.

Non Baseball:

Excited: gals BB
Sad: D line coach gone

Hurd is my biggest disappointment, but I still believe he can/will improve.

Edwards is my pleasant surprise.

I hope Herring continues to get more appearances.

Hurd and Little for biggest disappointment. Biggest surprise would be we did not run rule them the 3rd game.

I agree. The PB/WP in G1 that allowed the Arky runner to take 3rd and score on the fly ball be seen as the difference in G1. Or if Edwards had gone in to pitch the 10th then ostensibly we win in the bottom of the 10th on Crews HR.

And we didn't need Edwards in either G2/G3.

Disappointments: Hurd and Little

Pleasant Surprises: Floyd

Not surprising but nice to see continue: Crews’ batting, Dugas OBP, Edwards, And biggest of all is Jordan Thompson’s continuing sparkling performance at SS.

BTW, I have been very pleasantly surprised by Tommy White’s defensive performance. It’s far from great, but I thought it was going to be very bad.

Are you sure about that?

Without Edwards, we might have seen some very crooked innings in game 3, and we might have been facing it with a depleted bullpen that had to pitch two more innings in game 2.

Disappointment = Little

Pleasant surprise = Edwards

I thought Little was much better than he is, but it looks like Edwards has taken another step forward.

While I agree, there were a number of pitches that are normally strikes called balls yesterday. Umpiring has been questionable lately.

I don’t like losing but that game 1 loss gave us a chance to see how this team would respond. I liked what I saw.

Disappointment: Baserunning. Hesitating at third, getting back picked with a runner on second and two outs, and the biggest mind boggler 1 out hit and run with Beloso when you are SHELLING their pitcher

Surprise: Friday night 10th inning pitching

Hurd and Little most disappointing. A couple of weeks ago Little looked like the sure fire answer as closer. Hurd appeared to be coming along but took a step back yesterday.

Edwards definitely showed that he was ready to step up and be used more in that set up/back end of the game type role!

Jay has stated that Hurd is the key to LSU having the type season we all want to have.

He has struggled the past 2 outings vs SEC, but I have to remind myself he’s still young and coming off an injury.

Pearson's play/arm accuracy was a pleasant surprise. He made two great/accurate throws from right field to second, although he mis-played the sliding catch.

Hurd is OK, he's just slightly off.

Little has been a big disappointment IMO.

Beloso has been my biggest surprise. Had almost forgot he was still playing.
