God I hate food wasters.

We should turn that entire area into something better.

Dude, I'm as liberal as there is and I would never park there. North of Taco Bell on Highland Road is dangerous and not safe is what I went by. You could park on State Street and that's about as far North I would go. Of course I lived close enough to campus that I always walked to games.

IF you park free on the street, you are a target... The community will conveniently "not see" what happened. If you pay to park at the elementary school ($20 donation) or in someone's makeshift parking lot you will likely have better luck, but still is at your own risk.

Those enterprising young men should do what the dudes at Hunters Point in San Francisco do. They have about 8 of them and you give them $20 and they make sure no one messes with your car.

So basically... Baton Rouge just like every city in our state is filled with crime and scum and unless you get there the night before and pay too much money to park, you MIGHT get lucky boy get robbed.

We've parked on that end of campus for years. Used to be able to park pretty much everywhere for free. Then the entrepreneurs showed up in the early 2000's.

My dad asked the guy charging to park along the road why should he pay him. The guy straight up told my dad "you're paying me not to break into your car."

Serious question are any other schools in the SEC bordered by ghettos?

I'm curious about this as well.

I have parked there for years without a problem. Don't leave anything of value in sight and don't drive a Rolls Royce and you'll be fine.

This....if you try not to be an easy or attractive target your chances of being a crime stat are reduced

Yes. SCAR campus is close to the dumps. But most of Columbia SC is basically a sch()L:T() hole to begin with!

A few years ago, I parked on Dalrymple by the law school for a game. I accidentally left my wallet and an almost-full case of Budweiser longnecks on the hood of my car. When I got back to the car after the game, the beer was gone. My wallet was still there, and it had an extra ten spot in it... but the condom was gone. BRPD never did solve that crime.

Nope, It's just like most cities with sketchy areas. Not just every city in our state.

Don't act like there aren't cities with major problems outside of LA. Hell, people are getting murdered in enlightened L.A., CA after sporting events. It's a product of an entitlement or victim mentality and it permeates all races and geographic regions of our country.

My bad, I would have payed for the whole case but didn't have exact change. The rubber was dry rotted, so I looked at it as a favor.

That's hilarious and sad at the same time. Did your dad say, "Well, why didn't you say so? Here's $50. Have a great day, sir!"

On a serious note, I would love to just put my car in drive and ram someone like that if I was really confident I wouldn't get caught.
