I usually just pony up the money for a parking pass. I can always find one available for any games I attend. Then again the next time I'm staying at a motel that offers shuttle services.

I lived on W Roosevelt for a school year while at LSU. One night some dude got murdered across the street. This was 2000. Not ideal, but it was a studio apt for $250\month so it fit the budget.

There used to be a Taco Bell there on Highland about two blocks from campus. I think it was at Roosevelt. When did it go away?

I like the balls of that. I had a somewhat similar experience before I started parking in a better area.
