When was the last time LSU -- Florida wasn't a highly competitive game? I like our chances as we almost never lose to them in Death Valley

This post might make sense if we beat them last year…

I am taking nothing for granted.
Until Kelly proves that he can have LSU ready for a season opener, I will be nervous going into every game.
Until the defense proves that it can stop the run, give consistent pressure and cover receivers, I will be nervous going into every game.
Until the offensive line proves that it can bust a grape in the run game and give Nuss time to throw, I will be nervous going into every game.

We lost to Florida because we couldn't block them up front due to poor center play, and having BOTH our starting Guards out (where they couldn't cover for the Center mistakes).
Yes, that was huge in that loss for sure.
For me it's funny the things you can't get over but if Keys had not dropped the first quarter interception the game may have been very different. It was in Florida territory and we likely score at least a field goal if not a touchdown off that and instead they go on to score a TD on that drive. Big play in that game, though I suppose you can do that with most any game.

The fact that you think you want us to believe you have an algorithm and that Manning at Texas (the Vegas Heisman front runner) isn’t in your top four qb’s in the SEC is laughable.

I hope our guys realize that we play Florida in week 3 and they are ready..

He's a top 3 QB in the SEC, in all honesty, its probably him and Nuss competing for the top spot unless UGAs or Alabama's QB ends up being a stud this year.
Look, I think Arch Manning is overrated, but to not even include him in this discussion is pretty suspect lol

I didn’t even know what sport you were talking about until Lagway lol

Long story short, I'm pulling a lot of data around recruiting rankings, current talent on roster, depth, etc.
Is that what bored people do?

FL plays Long Island and South FL their first 2 games. They will know nothing about their team when they come to TS.

if you take position groups and weigh them appropriately
What metrics are you using in your algo in order to get this weighted measurement? Where is that data sourced from?

Most important game on the schedule.... if we don't beat Clemson, UF game will set the tone for the rest of the season.

Florida was 4-5 going into the LSU game last year with their four wins being Samford, UCF, and the two worst teams in the SEC (Kentucky and Miss. St). They caught a little bit of a heater to upset LSU and Ole Miss (AT HOME) before beating a terrible FSU team and Tulane in the bowl game. Before the LSU game Napier was 15-19 (8-14). So the question is was the 4 game stretch to end the season the start of something great? Or was it an anomaly? The data suggest the later.
Now, as for the OP's algorithm, the "gold standard" in terms of looking at returning production has generally been Bill Connelly's SP+ ratings. In those, LSU is 9th...Florida is 14th. Isolated to the SEC LSU is 4th. Florida is 7th.
Will Florida be an "easy out"? Not likely. They rarely are. But I'm not quite ready to anoint them a great team based almost entirely on a 2 game sample size which is the complete outlier of Bill Napier's 3 year tenure.
