Between O and Napier we can move away from hiring coaches because they’re one of us

The roster management between the two has been absolutely awful. Glad Scott grabbed a legit manager in this new age of football

Napier isn't "one of us" and we didn't hire him.

EDIT - Meant to say "isn't" one of us, not "is".

I'm surprised Florida kept Napier for another year. Nothing about their play the last 2 years should inspire them for his future there.

Love to see it.

He’ll be fired midseason. They have the hardest schedule in the nation. They’re looking at a 3-9 season

Uh, napier is from Tennessee.

Just 'cause he coached in LA - it doesn't make him one of us.

Since when is Billy Napier “one of us”? He’s from Tennessee.

Lots of LSU fans wanted him over Kelly. They thought he was the next urban meyer in our backyard.

the "he's one of us" was always a ridiculous way to choose a head coach.

Was Nick Saban from Alabama?

Was Urban Meyer from Florida?

Was Ryan Day from Ohio?

I could go on and on and on.

Pick the best coach, regardless of his accent.

Almost no one wanted him over Kelly which I know of. Just a few loud mouths, a couple with media credentials.

One of "Us" won a National Championship. Best team in the history of the sport. We still have a few players, recruited by one of us. Thomas, Nabers, Lacey, Nuss.
Year 3 is coming up for One of them.

If you look at Florida as a program outside of Spurrier and Meyer they have been an average program at best

Just an honest question. Your profile says you’re a Texas fan but everything you post about LSU is referred to as “us”.

Explain?

Yeah but look at the success they had with them. Arguably they’re one of the best programs in the history of the sport during the Spurrier and Meyer years.

Yes, O did have 2019 and then he preceded to take a more active role on both sides of the ball which resulted in one of the worst back to back coaching performances since………….well, his entire stay in Oxford.

I don’t blame anybody, coaches especially, for wanting to make more money and move up the ranks. But, he made a big mistake leaving Lafayette. He was thought of as near god-like over there and could have done well, both on and off the field, had he stayed.
