This is certainly all true. But for years we said “This is Torina’s make-or-break year.” But nothing happened.

I’ve stopped posting about it. I’m resigned to the fact that Torina will be here as long as she wants to. Softball was a low priority for Woodward and it will be for Ausberry. As long as Torina wins more than she loses, her job security is a lock.

What did Verge say about football? “We should be in the playoff every year!” If he applied the same standard to softball? “We should be in the WCWS at least every other year!” But we all know that isn’t going to happen.

Beth can coast all she wants to and she’ll still be here. She’s not getting fired. No point getting worked up about it because nothing will change.

yeah, I'm not one of the fire the coach folks - we can get a bit too brazen with all of that at times with our sports programs - but you get what you tolerate. I'd just as soon strive to be the best at everything we do, and this is not the best we can do in softball.

If she is indeed being paid a top ten salary, we have not met that standard in quite awhile. If you want to say I'm good with that if not meeting that standard helps the sports I really care about - and that's what many folks would say - o.k. - I don't really want that to be the standard for any sport, but Verge ain't asking me.
