Not the best catch of the bunch, but definitely the most important.

No doubt about it.

Foster's catch, and i mean this, is the best defensive play in LSU Baseball history.

You mean he was aware of everyone on the field/in the stadium/in the dugout pointing and yelling at first base? haha

No. He was already turning to throw before he even hit the ground

Landry's when he scaled the wall.

plays when a player actually has to dive or jump are more special to me

It's clear he could have taken another step and tracked it down, considering the ball is going into his glove while still on the ground. It was awesome enough for him to track it down. The theatrics werent totally needed tho.

I love total BS analysis from idiots
So his foot was on the ground when he caught it while fully extending his body to catch the ball running full speed. That must mean he could've stayed on his feet and only dove for the "theatrics"....
Yea okay buddy, I guess you've never played baseball

What's funny about Landry was when people said "the Landry catch" I had two or three pop in my mind.

Here's another:

You prob think it's more efficient to dive head first into 1st base too, don't you?

Sure. But how is that level of awareness "unbelievable". Everyone believed it.

Foster's game-saving catch against aTm last season was the play of the week on ESPN if I recall.

This is what I came to post. Kept thinking it was Chad Cooley for some reason.

Sorry. I thought this was a different kind of thread. Perhaps, the Kool Aid hasn't taken over!

If I remember correctly Ray Wright had 2 great catches that game. The one where he robbed the homerun and the one where he made a charging dive to catch a shallow line drive that should have dropped in for a base hit.

Cooley was the sliding no catch against Miami late in the 96 championship game where he and Bianco got in the umpire's face.
