Joe Burrow 2019 Season is the greatest ever. Outside of that, the next 3 best seasons are debatable.

Is Daniels really the guy for next year or is it a open competition in the spring?

Remember all the shite people talked about Johnson, and the same ones are now lauding Daniels as heisman contender

JD had 885 and 11TD on the ground as well.

We don’t beat bama without his legs.

Burrow 2019 was ridiculous. I remember first or second home game, he dropped a dime 45 yds downfield on the sideline in stride from the opposite hash. I told the guy next to me that’s an NFL throw. He of course disagreed.

Before we realized how magical that season would be. Good times

For all the hate JD gets he has similar stats to 2018 burrow.

With a full year under the coaching regime and the “5th year senior Online curriculum” he could improve tremendously.

Not really...
JRuss 2006 was the best qb season after burrow.
2006 set single records of passing Tds for a season, best compl% for a season, best qbr for a season.
2006 was also #2 passing yards for a season.
Not really debatable.

To say Joe's record for TD's is safe would be an understatement especially at LSU. He literally doubled the next few guys.

Jayden accounted for nearly 1,000 more yards than him and had more tds than him… what’s your point?

Leaving out rushing stats seems like a pretty huge omission here when 1 of these guys obviously lived on that quite a bit

Also so tough to compare modern seasons to ones from a decade or decades ago, just very different offense from then to now. Like when Russell had that huge 2006 season, a 167 passer rating was the best among all P5 QBs. It was considered a very high end elite season. 3100 yards, 28 TD, 8 INT with a 167 passer rating (over 13 games) today might not even break you into the Top 10 in some of the seasons we've seen recently.

2020 is a good example of this, Trevor Lawerence went for 3153 yards, 24 TD, 5 INT with a 169 passer rating that season, very similar to Russell in 2006 (though this was in just 10 games that year)

He finished 12th in NCAA passer rating that season There were 6 guys who had a passer rating of 180 or higher

Maybe because one of them went 7-6, while the other went 10-4 and won the west?

Or maybe it's because of the 920+ yards and 10 touchdown difference in rushing?

Dumbass.

After looking at Minimum Johnson’s stats and rating, I’m not sure they tell the whole story. If I hadn’t looked at the stats I would tell you JD had a much better season than MJ did the prior year. Maybe it’s the rushing yards and TD’s and the fact that the team played so much better as a whole.

Also, while JD valued the ball, I could live with 3 or 4 more pick’s knowing that TD’s and passing yards would likely go up substantially.

28 total TD’s for Jayden
28 total TD’s for Max

Wrong again

28 to 28 total TD’s. How you score doesn’t matter is the narrative that we heard all this year. AND Max Johnson didn’t have a bowl game and SEC championship that Jayden did.

Daniels is almost certainly the starting QB for LSU next year. Unless JD5 gets hurt, or turns the ball over 2-3 times in a game (which is highly unlikely), Nuss is a backup until JD runs out of NCAA eligibility.

How well JD5 does/does not throw the ball doesn't matter. Where he ranks in lists like this doesn't matter.

What DOES matter is this -- JD5 doesn't turn the ball over. And whatever JD5 does in games can get LSU to 10 wins in a season.

Modest improvement in defense, in running game, special teams, a few less dropped passes, any of which seems likely, and LSU is a 10-12 win team with JD5 at QB.

Would YOU, if YOU were CBK, make a change at QB next season? I honestly don't think I would, and I'm in the "anybody but JD5 camp".

There may be better throwing QB's than JD5 out there, but that just doesn't matter.

Daniels stats are, at best, misleading.

Do you know how ridiculous this sounds?

This place is amazing.

The coaches spend an ungodly amount of time with these players. Quizzing them, watching film. Film of games, film of practice. I could go on and on.

Jayden Daniels started because he gave the team the best chance to win.

Brian Kelly needs to win games. He's going to play the guy that gives him the best chance based on the evaluations of all of the above.

Joe's stats from 2019 are still so f*cking amazing.

If J. Daniels can improve from this year to next just 50% of Joe's improvement from 2018 to 2019, we will be in the CFP
