Cam looks like he’s gonna be a Ronnie Henderson/Marcus Thornton level scorer. I think he’s got possibly more upside, I know Ronnies injury killed his pro career, but I think Cam is right there with him talent wise. Of course there’s more talent around him so he probly won’t get as many looks as those 2 this season but he could be a 20ppg+ guy if he stayed. I don’t think he will though and that’s ok.

No freshman didn’t play varsity back then but he was lighting up the freshman games and packing the Cow Palace his freshman year.

Too early to tell, but Cam looks like the real deal.

Chris Jackson--Incredible
Pete Maravich--God like
Cam Thomas---Looks really good
Ronnie Henderson---Ronnie was good, not great
Randy Livingston---What could have been
Darrell Mitchell---Too streaky
T. Waters---Absolutely loved Tremont, hope I end up loving Cam more

Howard Carter needs to be in the mix. High C was an awesome shooter.

Yeah. Pete played on the freshman team. Lost once to Tennessee.

Randy Livingston was a great point guard but not known for his shooting. Pistol and CJ alone by themselves.

I loved that guy. I had quit going to games fo awhile but when he got here I had a coaching buddy who told me to go see him play and I’ve been back to the PMAC regularly ever since. Brady had good teams but mostly all defense, Thornton brought excitement back to LSU basketball by lighting up scoreboards.

Kenny Higgs was basically a one man team at LSU back in the day. He was scoring machine though.

He was great though in his sophomore and junior years. He led the SEC in scoring in both seasons. When he was hot, he would drain 3 after 3.

Three games vs a career?
If Cam takes us to a final four then he is going to be hard to beat.
Chris and Pete never did that.

Was never a freshman at LSU

Randy was an excellent point guard and a good not great spot up shooter.

I’ll start comparing Cam Thomas to Chris Jackson if he scores 53 in his 1st SEC game.

I have to agree with you. He led the SEC in scoring in back to back seasons (21.8 and 23.3ppg), that isn’t pedestrian averages for the SEC scoring leader. 23.3 is 12th alltime in the modern SEC single season and his career 20.3 is 6th among modern SEC players alltime, (post 3pt line 1986 per sports reference.com). I think the reason fans tend to undervalue Henderson is because he didn’t play in the NBA but that was because of injury, not a talent issue. He was drafted but his body never came back enough to get out of the foreign circuit.

He wasn't a freshman when he got here, and really doesn't compare to these guys, but I loved me some Keith Hornsby.
