I remember in the first round, LSU hit like 7 bombs(yes in 1 game) in 1st game against Auggie.

for me it has to be 1998, we should have gone back to back to back

if they could have fielded bunts, and made the plays against them, they would have 3peated. 98 team is the answer.

Nah, Floridas pitching was still a good bit better/deeper than that LSU staff. UF still wins regardless.

2013 and 2015 are pretty high up there for me

57-11 in 2013
54-12 in 2015

That's an over 80% win percentage both years, those teams went 1-4 in Omaha, the 2013 team inexplicably lost both games in Omaha where we score 2 total runs in 2 games (and gave up just 4 total runs).

Aaron Nola got the loss in game 1 in 2013, He went 8 innings and didnt give up an earned run

It's hard to say anything but 2013.

That team had the best record in school history in terms of win % (.838) and total wins (57 - tied with 1997) and fewest losses (11). The team also went 23-7 in SEC play, which is the best record in school history.

They won the SECT, didn't lose a single game in the regionals/SR, and entered the CWS 57-9

To give a little context:

1997: 57-13
2013: 57-11

That team in almost any other year in any other stadium wins the NC pretty easily. Unfortunately, that season occurred in the dead-bat era in a park that simply didn't reward slugging.

98 is probably the answer, but only winning 1 game in Omaha between 2012 and 2016 with the rosters we had is a travesty.

I like this one, but it wasn’t an all time great Tiger team. They were very gritty, gutting out two straight wins against an all time great team (56-4 on a 23 game winning streak when we faced them). How about 1989, going on the road and winning two straight in College Station against a 58-5 team? 1987 WITH Joey

That was a gritty team with Big Ben. 1990 team was better all around but faced some darn good pitching in Omaha.

2013 was loaded. For any team to have beaten us we would have had to make mistakes.

Which is what we did

So many flyball outs vs UCLA. Couldn't stay away from the high heat.

Yep. We had a team made for Rosenblatt. We however, did not have a team built for the newer stadium in Omaha. If 2013 played pre 2010, I think they win it. We had some long outs that would have been home runs in the old ballpark.

1998 was the year it rained and pushed the championship game to Monday? Ainsworth verses sheets?

Yeah. I agree. UF was the best team.

They beat us 4 out of 5 times that year, but a lot of posters still swear that we were better and that Eric Walker’s injury is the only reason we lost. That’s silly in my opinion.

How about 2017? I think we win it if Walker doesn't get hurt

And Lange was ready to go in game 3. That one hurt.

If 1998 wind change doesn't happen we're sitting at USC with 11 titles and none since the 70s while we have 9 all since the 90s.

But alas. At least because of 2009 we're 8-6 on Texas instead of tied at 7. Considering our fortune overall in Omaha it feels a little greedy to gripe about a bad break here and there because things have gone our way over there more than they haven't.

We have to consider that the 2013 UCLA team featured Gerrit Cole and Trevor Bauer. Those cats weren’t giving up runs to anybody!

they weren’t on that team. Adam Plutko was the ace that year.

All great mentions. 2017 was such a kick in the dick with it being Florida. I honestly believe last years team that lost to UNC in the regionals could’ve made some noise at the World Series. They were getting hot at the perfect time. That UNC regional and the shoot out loss at UGA with Mett, Landry, and Odell were probably the most enjoyable losses if that makes sense that I can remember.
