Well Shaq learned from Dale Brown, I doubt anyone learned anything from Johnny Jones.

His head coach wasn't utterly atrocious?

I have not used differential equations one second in my 17 year professional career.

I learned far more learning on the job.

Does that mean I shite on my university?

He did not loose anything either.

No reason for Ben to act like a prick.

If he wanted to learn he has to put into it (if we are talking about the classroom); if he wanted to learn more basketball in his 1 year he should have gone to a school with a better coaching staff (not just his godfather on staff)

Own your own decisions Ben or since you are where you wanted to be now - just let it go.

Him being Australian has something to do with it. Foreign countries have great players going pro way before 18-19. Different culture all around for pro sports.

Underclassmen weren't leaving then and they weren't really drafting them. 1 So. got drafted in the '89 draft and Shawn Kemp was the only freshman, and he only left because he couldn't get qualified.

There were other 1 and dones though.
Shaq stayed because he wanted to. Shaq got an education. Shaq was still only 19 because he started school in Germany and graduated 1 year ahead here.

Simmons can’t carry Shaq’s Jock.

I'm pretty sure that is what he is doing....as well as trying to change the situation for future guys in his position.

Who can....Shaq was probably one of the top 4-5 big men of all time. He also happens to be one of the last.

If he didn't get anything out of being at LSU, then it was an even exchange.
Entitled dimwit.

Neither have I. But the mental discipline needed to understand how to do them, and far more sophisticated math, physics and chemistry, has been invaluable in how to approach and solve problems in the practice of law.

As others have pointed out, if you put effort in to college education, you get comparable value out.

No there weren't. From 1980 until Kevin Garnett in 1995 the only freshman drafted were Shawn Kemp, who was a hardship case, and Shawn Bradley who was 3 years out of HS after his freshman year because of 2 mission years.

I mean, I see a lot of support for Ben from LSU fans.

My question is, "What did he ever do for you?"

The only way I can see an LSU fan supporting Ben is because of his/her dislike for Johnny, which doesn't make a lot of sense either, but I can agree that Ben's LSU experience would have been better under a coach not named Johnny Jones.

I'm convinced the only reason he came here was he knew he could do whatever he wanted. Coach K or Calipari would have put his arse in check.

I'm sure it's been covered but he comes off as a whiny brat.

He's obviously an incredible talent abd I wish the best for him but he really needs to be quiet about his college experience, it makes him look like an entitled douche.

In life you have to do thing that you don't want to do, it's just that simple. A 15 year old has to get a learners permit before they can have a drivers license. I'm sure there are plenty of 15 year olds that are better drivers than 16 year olds but they don't get to skip the process just because they are further along. Life doesn't work that way.

Also his irritation is pointed in the wrong direction. He keeps blaming the NCAA when it's the NBA that made him go to college for a year.

He needs to learn that you get out what you put in. He decided early on that college was BS and his attitude reflected that abd he got nothing out of it. Had he decided he was going to make the best out of the year, I bet he'd have learned a thing or two and become a better person because of it.

TL;DR: Ben Simmons shows how immature he is by constantly bashing his college experience.

Because Shaq independently valued a college education. He played here and did well while he was here. He also left early and went pro. But the difference came when Shaq came back during the off season and earned his degree. To Shaq there is intrinsic value in education. Ben Simmons obviously doesn't see it that way.

This is his own fault.

#1 - the kid is obviously a dick. Regardless of what he thought of the college experience, there's no reason to shite on LSU like he does.

#2 - he had no business going to a school like LSU to play for a coach like Johnny Jones to be a one and done. If you're going to be a one and done, go to Duke or North Carolina or Kentucky and go have fun in the NCAA tournament with a bunch of other great players and move on.
