I mean, nobody really gives a shite about these games. They’re nice to win, but losing means absolutely zero. The year is over and the team will be completely different next year. This is like a glorified practice.

We will be thin at CB, OLine, TE, WR

Who is our 4th CB?
Who is our 4th WR?
TE depth?
OLine starters?
Safety starters?

I can see why they are favored because they will have most of their team

I think we still win

Because I’m born and raised in Baton Rouge, went to LSU, been going to games all my life and I ALWAYS care if my team wins, dickhead…

You care enough to come online and virtue-signal that you are not supporting the team anymore… mmmK thanks keep us posted.

Doesn’t matter whether the fans care about a win in a less prestigious bowl game.

If a player isn’t committed to busting his arse for a win, he has developed bad mental habits and self defeating outlooks that if they spread can destroy a team. Any player that thinks this or any other game is not a big deal needs to be processed and transfer out.

I hope we don’t play Nuss more than a series or two.

I happened to watch the Baylor version of that Locked On podcast network. They are downright giddy and think it's a chance to whip up on an SEC team. The guy spent most of the show cackling about all the LSU players who have opted out, gone into the transfer portal or declared for the NFL draft.

Baylor almost has none, the guy pointed out. Apparently 21 of Baylor's 22 starters will play in the game.

They're convinced Nussmeier won't have an OL to protect him and he won't have receivers to throw to. They think Aranda's defense is going to shine.

That 1985 Liberty Bowl loss to these clowns was one of LSU's worst bowl performances ever. Those stories about Arnsparger letting the players drive themselves to Memphis are well-documented facts.
The Baylor coach, Grant Teaff, crowed about beating LSU until the day he finally retired (in 1992). His self-congratulatory farewell speech included the line, "We whipped LSU's butt!"

For all these reasons, I hope we take care of business and win this otherwise meaningless bowl game.

tends to happen when you play the teams on their schedule at the end of the year. Maybe they win, maybe they lose, but their winning streak was a big benefactor of their schedule over the last 6 weeks. To put in perspective, State would likely have a winning record over the last 6 teams baylor played.

That said, I have no idea who is even playing for LSU. Wouldn't touch that game.

Bowl means nothing at all.

Cbree you are wrong. Yes Ga beat Florida St by a lot last year....and yes, it did send a message what Florida State would look like going into this year and was spot on.

Unfortunately I was at the ‘85 game in Memphis. Coldest game I’ve ever been to! Game and Stadium sucked and concessions ran out of anything warm to drink. Seats were right next to the Baylor band and when we decided to pull the plug and leave they all stood up and were yelling bye LSU bye! ?????

Excuse already baked in. We had extra time and failed to even get the team ready to step on the field.

Arnsparger never cared to play in meaningless bowl games.

I don't like BK either, but I also don't care about this game. As long as the key players returning don't get hurt, I wouldn't care if LSU lost 49-0

The BK fan club says it only mattered when there were 39 scholarship players in O's last year..

They have been riding this excuse for him going on 4 years now.

Now that Big Game Brian is on charge, its A OK for players to sit, skip, or any other excuse not to play.

We could have 39 scholarship players for this bowl and somehow these people would find a way to tie it back to O to keep Kelly from being accountable.

I am with you on this. Let all the knuckleheads run their mouth. They are more about social media than football. It is an LSU football game, so I want to win it. Nuff said!

He received many knocks on his performance in bowl games at LSU. While these are justified regarding Baylor in 1985, his other bowl games were against favored Nebraska teams in the 1985 and 1987 Sugar Bowls. LSU led in both those games for about a half, before succumbing to superior talent.

So what you’re saying is that bowl games are complete bullshite and through 3 seasons Brian Kelly doesn’t actually have a 10 win season yet. I agree
