I don't think I'm 100% sold on Pearson being a guarantee yet. I want to see a little more this year from him that looks more like last season rather than what he looked like in the summer and fall.
With that said, we know he is capable of handling SEC pitching. So I'm expecting him to be just fine.
Fall stats mean little. They almost never correlate to actual season stats with any great consistency. I remember the one year Danny Zardon had a fall similar to what Merrifield had this year and then didn't even play then transferred. It's the same reason I still don't think Merrifield will be much of a factor this season. Whether Pearson had a .400 OPS or 1.200 OPS this fall, I don't think it makes a difference either way. I'll be shocked if he doesn't produce similar stats to last season.

I get what you are saying and that is why I put the last part in my comment. His struggles was through the summer and fall. I think he will be just fine also, I was just saying I wouldn't put him as a 100% sure thing listed with Crews, White, and Morgan as a starter day in and day out just yet.

You’ll see Jobert there too.
Skenes pitches and one thing we know Johnson cares about is having lefties in the lineup.

I'm riding. Hopefully the pitching is legit and defense is improved.

The pitching talent and experience - legit. The pitching coach is legit. Health will be the critical piece.
I'm still not sold on the infield defense yet. I'd be happy with simply making the routine plays.

8. Milazzo, C
9. Kling, LF
No chance Crews leads off. Too many dingers for that.

I'm not sure you'll be sold on it most of the season. I do think Thompson will improve dramatically, he was playing really well to end last season, only 1 error last 11 games.
It's pretty clear Tommy White is not going to be a defensive stalwart of a 3rd baseman though. Lets just hope his dingers far outweigh his errors.
2B to me depends on who wins that job. If it's Merrifield I'm confident he can have a really good defensive season. If it's Dugas I see him struggling a bit more there.

When Skenes pitches, move Dugas to DH and throw in Nippolt/Guidry and drop them to the 9 spot and move everyone up.
However, I work in a corporate setting and am no D1 baseball coach

I mean we got a lot of guys who go yard in the lineup this year. Good chance leadoff guy is a guy who could hit 10+ home runs regardless of the options you have to put there.

I'd be willing to bet Crews, Morgan, White will be the 1,2,3 hitters in the lineup in just about every game this season if not all.
Won't be very many 1,2,3 innings from opposing pitchers with that in the 1st inning.
If Pearson picks up from last season maybe Crews, Morgan, White, Pearson or Crews, Pearson, White, Morgan. Either way it sucks for the other team.

Out of everything people are posting, I feel like people putting Kling in LF know the least. Kling is RF/CF all day if he's in the lineup just like Crews. Pearson is a LF. He only played RF last year because we had 2 LFs and 0 RFs. Any time he plays RF this season it will be because Kling isn't playing.

Yeah I can’t see it any other way.
It’s also a RLR opening lineup.

I don’t like Crews leadoff but Johnson liked him there at the end of the year.
I think Morgan is your pro typical leadoff guy. Sees a lot of pitches, high OBP, can drive in runs. I’d rather see Crews in a spot that will allow him to drive in runs.
I think Crews should hit 3rd & White 4th. They would have to finger a guy for the 2 hole which could be a little more clear after a few weeks in, but I have some ideas.

I think Everyone liked Crews in at least the 2 spot. It’s we’re teams out their best hitter now, because you can still get someone one base and you get more plate appearances.
I cant Find the numbers but I just Remember Crews hitting better at lead off. And maybe the stats don’t support this at all.

I wouldn't mind something like Morgan, Crews, Pearson, White but I really like the idea of Crews, Morgan, and White all batting in the 1st inning of every game. Obviously I like the top of the order to have a little L/R/L/R or R/L/R/L variance to it also.
