Holman might be that dude.

I was hoping for more out of Hurd today.

I'm surprised they both pitched today. Would've expected him to use the same rotation he has planned for next weekend to get them on a schedule.

For those who have watched spring practice, are we still expecting to run a lot more this year? I know during the fall CJJ made some comments that we would use our speed a lot more this year.

We play 4 games per weekend for the first two weeks. The schedule is going to be crazy the first 3 weeks.

Jones….this is comical if it wasn’t so sad. Gotta have vision issues…and I don’t just mean seeing spin. You just can’t be this bad. Michael Jordan hit better than this

I want so bad for Jones to be good. He's so fun to watch when he's mashing the ball like he was early last season

I have noticed that LSU is being more aggressive on the bases than last year. More straight steal attempts and several squeeze bunt attemps this spring. They have also been trying to stretch hits into extra bases on occassion.
I wish I could report that they have been very successful in this but, I won't lie, there is room for improvement.

Yeah at this rate I think we see Frey take Jones spot at 1st or they'll end up shifting Jake Brown to 1st and Frey to OF. Good thing we have a lot more options this year.

Based on Scuba's stats through 8 scrimmages so far...

Jones: 1-22, 13 K, 2 BB, 1 HBP, 1 SF, 2 RBI

That's a .199 OPS.

Ouch.

It is possible that’s a game plan for the offense to be more aggressive on the bases, but even if it isn’t, it is good practice for the defense.
