Why is Dugas being throw behind White at 3b? He’s our best option at 2b this year. Most experience and proven experience.
Why not leave him at 2b to get comfy

Taylor's arm issue was noticed due to him shaking it as he left the mound

Not generally a good sign. Knew this off-season was going to smoothly.

Because none of what you said is true. That’s why.

Dugas hasn’t played in the infield since his freshman year and wasn’t great at it then. He’s going to have to start the year with his pants on fire in order to secure everyday at bats. That’s how good this lineup is.

Taylor seemed to have an issue with his arm when leaving the game after the 7th inning.

I assume this was Neal, scuba?

He has really struggled at the plate in the last few.

2nd looks like it’s coming down to Merrifield vs Nippolt but good to see Dugas back and hitting

Dugas is 1 of 4 players competing for PT at second base. Two other right handers and one lefty. I think we will see a platoon with the righties and the lefty to start the season untill one of the right handers seperates from the others. All of them are capable of filling in at the other two infield positions, as well.

I could I care less about dugas. Taylor is more important to this team. Does anyone have an update on his arm?

I think he starts (somewhere) on opening night and hits a homer.

Same. I think Beloso will struggle for at bats in this group, but we'll see. He's not laying down. He just doesn't have the positional versatility or slugging that others have.

Taylor made an awkward play at 1st base on a grounder to Morgan.

Taylor tried covering the bag, but stumbled and fell when he went to step on the base. He got pulled a couple pitches later.

He wasn’t limping at all, so it had to be something with his arm. Maybe when he fell, he landed on his wrist or elbow in a weird way.

Hopefully he’s ok, cause besides the HR he gave up to Frey, his stuff was nasty.

I agree. I think Dugas ends up winning out but I’m also not going to automatically assume he’s there opening day. Dude has been hurt more than available the last two years and hasn’t been an infielder in 3 years. It’s going to take some time and honestly it’s going to take some luck for him to break into the everyday lineup.

I am hoping Dugas works his way back to 2021 form and forces Johnson to find a spot for him at 2B, LF or DH. They have other good options at those spots, but I’m not sure any of them can/will perform at that level. That Dugas would take this team up another level. Unfortunately, Johnson’s recent comments (and his usage of Dugas last year) suggest he doesn’t see that in Dugas. It sounds like Dugas is going to have to fight to prove he deserves extensive playing time and has overcome his injuries/eye surgery.

I feel better about that scenario you just described as opposed to Taylor shaking his arm after delivering a pitch without some kind of contact.

Skenes looked better than stats showed. A couple of dink hits and I probably woulda scored 2 errors on white in the 4th inning.

Plus with it being a scrimmage they would pull him if there was even a slight chance it was something that could be aggravated. He may be fine with rest or just being careful and it’s nothing.

If it is something at least we’re deep enough where it wouldn’t kill us

I’m very curious to see which Pearson we get. He has struggled all of fall and seems like this spring as well. I’m hoping it clicks when the lights come on. If he continues to struggle, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Dugas slip in there.
