I don’t think Pearson has had a hit since May.

Superb line by Cooper. Shows you don't have to throw 95 to be a good pitcher. Hit your spots, mix your pitches, and play strong D behind him. Nice work 'visiting' team.

You said it man. Cooper is very effective, and I think his K/inning numbers are going to surprise some people.
Wasn’t initially impressed by the 2 Arizona pitchers Jay brought with him, but I think you will see both shine during the Tigers run this year.

Overall how has Neal looked at catcher?
I’ve noticed the last few games he’s caught some base runners stealing and his bad is looking good.

Yep he’s gonna be a stud! Milazzo will start game 1. But him and Neal will split time. Milazzo is the best defensive catcher in the country IMO. Especially pick and pop!

Neal has looked as good as hyped. Defensively above average and offensively a step up from what we've had recently. It's hard for me to tell about how he handles pitchers this early in his time in Tiger Town but I haven't seen any problems. I think he will be a real asset in the next few years.

In the last week Neal has thrown out Morgan and Crews trying to steal, and has thrown upwards of 10 base runners out this offseason.
His advancement should be one of the stories of this offseason, given his age.

Skenes got little help from his defense, gave up more hits than he would have other wise.

I think the concern that he couldn't handle this level of pitchers yet should be put to bed. He has proven it already. His teams are giving up less runs than Milazzo's. I wouldn't say that's entirely on the catcher, but it does prove that Neal isn't going to hurt you behind the plate.
They will both play. Neal is LHH, first and foremost, so I don't see him starting against LHP. We also need to keep guys fresh. As I've said before, I believe Neal gets the most reps. Milazzo will get plenty of reps. Travinski and Jones will get some reps.
Neal needs to get his K rate down.

Damn, Milazzo threw out all four guys that tried to steal on him. Just curious, any of our new guys look really good or appear to have the speed to swipe a few this year mid week or pinch running?
