I personally think he improves his offense and makes this a tight race all year

This has been predicted a few years in a row now. Milazzo is what he is offensively. If I were him I'd work on becoming a good sacrifice bunter and working counts.

Travinski feels pretty blocked. He didn’t play much last year and they’ve only added better players to the spots he would fit in.

He was hurt. McManus was our only real option for half the year.

He was hurt but got healthy. I like him I just don’t know where he fits. He can’t really play anywhere but DH.

If he comes on as an offensive sub for Milazzo late in a game, he would catch. That’s what I think his role will be. A RH PH for Milazzo or elsewhere in the order. He won’t get the starts Neal and Milazzo will have I just think he will have PT options outside of DH.

Travinski would be in the rotation at catcher if either Milazzo or Neal got hurt, so thats not a bad place to be considering we just lost Milazzo for most of last year.

And he will continue to PH and DH some I bet.

I would like to see him fully healthy behind the plate, he's never going to be Neal or Milazzo behind the plate but people forget he was very highly rated coming in here. Just has to get the receiving part of his game down better...he had one of the best (MPH) throws to 2nd and pop times in his high school class.

Yea if someone gets hurt in front of him, sure. A 3rd C isn’t getting many ABs, however.

He may be your 3rd defensive option but he could likely be the second offensive option in some cases. Neal bats LH; Trav is RH.

Travinski had some trouble receiving last year and we added some serious velocity this year. Maybe now that he’s healthy he’s been able to work on his catching skills. I’d like to see him improve and get more AB’s but I can’t remember ever seeing him block a low pitch. The guy has some serious power.

I'm a little surprised that Travinski didn't transfer
He still has another year so he can still do that after the season if playing time doesn't come to fruition
He would be a good fit at any of the other LA schools

Young man had some timely hits last season.

it is literally why i said it. any reps not going to morgan need to go to the person who is going to replace him.
if beleso is content to just hang out in the dugout fine, since he doesnt count, but the younger guys need the reps so that by game 58 in super regional/omaha they have the experience and at bats.

What if they aren't as good as Beloso by game 58 in the Super Regional? As of right now, Beloso would be the guy to replace Morgan I would think.

I really hope this isn't true. And, if it is, I hope he has gotten alot better behind the plate. He has had trouble catching balls right down the middle since he got here, and hardly ever blocks.

I would prefer he, Frey, or Jones as a pinch hitter to bridge to Neal or Milazzo. For example, Milazzo starts then we pinch hit Travinski in a big spot with the starter on the ropes, but Neal comes in to catch and probably get an AB later on. Or, Neal starts, then we pinch hit Travinski before bringing Milazzo to finish defensively.

If anything were to happen to Morgan long term, I think Tanks would be looked at to move over to 1B. "He's better than Berry at 3B" isn't saying a whole lot. Opening up third would give more options than first. But let's just hope we are never having this discussion.

Dugas would also be an option at 1st base.
