The guy is a natural. He sounds like he should be doing MLB games.

Football seemed a little forced. But the guy is polished as hell at the Box.

Plus we had Buzzy calling the game yesterday so it's an even bigger welcome back for Chris Blair.

I think he will eventually shine in the other sports as well . Let him get his feet solidly on the ground .

Agreed. He's starting his "second time through the order" (started with baseball last year). I'd say he's better this year. Let's give him a chance to get into his second football season and see what he does.

PBP with baseball is much easier than football and basketball just because of the pace of action. Blair is great at baseball and really describes the details and seems to understand the game. I haven't heard him do basketball. Football he is okay so far but a definite upgrade.

Baseball he is ok. Basketball who cares?

Football he is just too fake. I dont know if he can get better but young guys seem to like his style much more than the over 50 crowd does. Fake enthusiasm is just obvious.

After yesterday afternoon it sounded like God himself was calling the game today

It's so nice to have someone you can understand. Hawthorne and Hanny say "uh" every 5 seconds and were always tripping all over each other. Sounded like 2 tweakers about to go into a G-hole for those that know what I'm talking about.

Baseball is better but football is terrible.

Down vote away but it sounds like Principal Skinner calling a game.

Definitely not terrible. But he does have moments of feigned enthusiasm that detract from the game. Like when he calls a 2.5 yard gain in the first quarter like it's a critical late game first down. Replete with exaggerated voice inflections and intensity. People instinctively pick up on, and are turned off by, fakeness.

yeah, he seemed a little stiff at first with baseball last year. Let's let him get used to all the venues and setups before we condemn him, he was supposed to be very highly considered.

Not only does he sound fake doing FB, he has to have his "signature " expression ("touchdown Tigers") like he had at his prior job. Don't like it.

Blair makes too many mistakes calling baseball. I keep a score book and it's sometimes bad. Unless your watching the game it's hard to see some of his mistakes. Charley H was probably the most accurate announcer we've had in the last 10 years.
