Deichmann up, Beau on 1st, no outs

in the dirt, gets away, Beau to 2nd!!! 1-0
outside, 2-0
runner at 3rd had to tag, that's what the appeal was for
throw to 2nd
strike, 2-1
outside, 3-1
high and outside, walk!

But wouldn't the runner at home be safe without the tag due to KRob's catch removing the force?

But he didn't tag up at 3rd after the catch.

Not sure why LSU had to appeal really, but I guess it all worked out.

Not if he left before the out. Which is what it sounds like.

Correct, while he freezes on the line drive anway and likely gets thrown out at home anyway, the late call surely didn't help

Right. I understand the outcome. I understand why it's a triple play. I know we got the appeal for the runner on 3rd and we threw out the runner from 2nd advancing to 3rd.

I was just all sorts of out of wack at home thinking the ball had not been caught and we went home without a tag.. but I realized/remembered that whether KRob caught it or not ( I know now he is ruled to have ) no tag was needed. Either way it would have been a force from bases being loaded.. but since it was a catch.. we got the appeal on the runner at home.

All was made right. I'm just glad we got out of that mess.

R-Kansas rag arm about to throw his 100th pitch

Bryce Jordan up, Deichmann on 1st, Beau on 2nd, no outs

shows bunt, takes a strike, 0-1
I don't think KRob caught that ball, but I'll take it...
bluff to 2nd
single to left! Beau holds at 3rd

Ump called fly out SS, tag out we saw, and runner that "scored" didn't tag, so he was out on appeal.

Still the wrong call, but triple play is better than the double play.

Only no official credit for a legit triple play

That's what I don't get. We're screwed out of a triple play because the umps messed up again.

What's our favorite play?

Besides that double/triple play, of course.

Agreed. It's an admission of a mistaken call, but you still don't get official credit for what was actually earned

Hogs have a complaint there, if ump says KRob caught the ball that has to be made clear to the runners. Probably would have got one more anyway but two more is doubtful.
