bottom 5, Fraley leading off
last play: Robertson caught it to retire the batter (1 out), throws home, then Reid tags the runner going to 3rd (2 outs), appeal to 3rd that the runner at 3rd didn't tag (3 outs)
flyout to left

Yeah and it looked pretty clear to me that Kramer didn't actually catch it. I'll take it.

Should have been a triple play anyway because Reid was on the bag when he caught the throw which would have made the original runner on 3rd out anyway, then the tag on the runner who attempted to advance from 2nd.

umps conversing, apparently about if Robertson caught the ball
Umps even called that wrong bc Romero didn't tag him, so run scored.
Eta.
The play was hit to SS, threw home out, throw to third out.
This is what really happened, the umps got it WRONG.
But we'll take the triple play.

Sadly, I don't think that it's scored a triple play since the last out was on an appeal.

Romero up, 2 outs
grounder to SS, bobbles it, throw to 1st gets away, Romero safe at 1st!!!

Anyone know of any other triple plays lsu has turned?
Went around the horn against Oklahoma, I think, in a regional back in the day.

It wouldn't matter. The lead runners would still be out.

Rantz saying it wasn't a triple play and the last time the Tigers turned one was in 1999 I think he said. Not sure against who.

That was fast...
Bonfield, Gassaway, Bernal due up in the top of the 6th
Pitch count:
Lange 80 (5.0 IP)
Taccolini 91 (5.0 IP)

It would have been a double instead of triple play though, big difference. Definitely a call against Arkansas there, but after blowing two against us, Ark had it coming.
