Umps even called that wrong bc Romero didn't tag him, so run scored. The play was hit to SS, threw home out, throw to third out.
never mind i was thinking this myself, but I'm on crack cocaine
the runner at home is out regardless because it's still a force at home.
i am not in my right mind

BATON ROUGE, La. - LSU's Jeremy Whitten went 2-for-3, including a two-run homer in the third inning, and lefthander Brian Tallet struck out seven Rebels to lift the No. 9 nationally-ranked Tigers to a 10-4 Southeastern Conference victory over Ole Miss on Sunday. With the win, LSU took two of three games in the series.
The Rebels now stand at 13-14 overall and 5-4 in the SEC. LSU improved its overall record to 20-9 and its conference mark to 5-4.
Ole Miss got off to a good start when senior Brad Henderson led off the top of the first inning with a home run to give the Rebels a 1-0 lead. The homer was Henderson's second of the season. The Tigers, however, responded with a run in the bottom of the first to tie the contest at 1-1.
After a scoreless second inning, the Tigers broke the game open in their half of the third inning with five runs. The LSU rally began with a single by Blair Barbier and walks by Jeff Leaumont and Brad Cresse to load the bases. Cedrick Harris then broke the tie with a two-run double, scoring Barbier and Leaumont to give LSU a 3-1 lead. Cresse then crossed the plate on a wild pitch to increase the Tiger advantage to 4-1. Moments later, Whitten blasted his fourth homer of the season, a two-run shot, to give LSU a 6-1 lead.
Ole Miss had an opportunity to get back in the contest in the top of the sixth. After Justin Huisman and John Massey reached base, Jude Voltz hit a deep shot near the wall that was run down and caught by the Tigers' Trey McClure. McClure quickly threw the ball back to the infield, where he doubled up both Huisman and Massey who were running on the play. The triple play was the third in LSU baseball history.
The Tigers then added two runs apiece in the seventh and eighth innings to increase their lead to 10-1, before the Rebels scored three runs in the top of the ninth for the 10-4 final. In the Rebel ninth, Massey led off with a walk and was followed by a Voltz single. After a wild pitch scored Massey, Michael Rosamond belted his seventh home run of the season.
Henderson went 2-for-4 at the plate, while Massey batted 2-for-3 for the Rebels. Ryan Bukvich (0-2) suffered the loss, giving up five runs on five hits in 2.1 innings of work.
McClure and Ryan Theriot both went 2-for-5 at the plate for LSU. Tallet evened his record at 1-1, allowing only one run on two hits in 5.1 innings.

beau, the runner going home didn't tag, hence the appeal and the 3rd out.

right,
I understand that. If Kramer hadn't caught it.. and no tag was at home..
but I just remembered it was bases loaded.. so it's a force.
That play had me all sorts of messed up

Blast from the past, nice. Tallet was a fine pitcher.

Looks like the ump missed another on that swing that hit said was a foul tip, unbelievably awful umps.
Posted on 5/6/16 at 9:08 pm to beauchristopher
I still don't get the technical difference between a triple play and a double play that turns into a triple play in effect on appeal.

I want the Tigers to get some more points!

Bases were loaded but Kramer caught it so runners were not forced to advance.
Posted on 5/6/16 at 9:09 pm to NotRight37
Assuming ball is caught, no one is forced; must tag to advance. Runner on second tags, runner on third doesn't. So the catch is one out. As soon as Reid catches the ball while standing on 3rd, runner headed home is out. Then he applies tag to runner coming from 2nd for out 3.
Late/lack of call on robertsons catch plays into runner from 3rd's decision to come home. That would be the gripe by Arkansas.
Correct?
