Serious question.
Why should anyone care about what the AP voters think? Does it have any role whatsoever in determining a playoff spot or is it just a way for sportswriters to feel relevant and/or to position certain games so that folks click on links?
You could come up with your own poll and it would have just as much of an impact on things as the AP poll has. I promise you that the Tigers didn’t fire BK and hire Kiff so that LSU can compete for an AP title.

Am I the only person not waiting around for the rankings? Who cares where we are ranked or where our opponents are ranked.
It's all about the Playoff Selection Committee's final ranking and seeding, not some ridiculous media or coaches voter poll. They were important decades ago, but their importance is long gone. Ignore them.

The SEC is cannibalizing itself. It makes it hard to rank the teams. Still, I very much agree that Auburn should be ranked and it was a joke that Kentucky wasn't ranked when we played them.
