At what point do you pull the plug on JD and let Nuss get some starting experience?

It doesn't look like JD has improved much, if any, in his first 6 starts at LSU. Either he is unable to read defenses, or he's so afraid of making a mistake that he gets paralyzed in the moment. He is also very inaccurate.

So, at what point do you start preparing Nuss to take over the helm next year? Do you run the risk of permanently damaging Nuss if you throw him to the wolves or is it better to get the starting experience?

If you make that decision to make the change, you have to be prepared for the mistakes that will inevitably happen.

If it were me, I would let JD start Florida, Ole Miss, and Bama, and if he doesn't make significant improvement in those games, I start Nuss against Arky, UAB, and A&M.

Walker will be the starter

I would play him this weekend if things start to go bad early.

Now. JD has had his chances. Nothing to lose and everything to gain. At least he throws the ball downfield. Fearless.

I think you only put Nuss in if you think one of two things.

1) He gives you a better chance of winning.

2) He is the absolute future of the program.

I don't think the staff believes either of those things are true. Wouldn't shock me if he isn't on the team next year and we roll with Walker Howard next season and bring in another vet through the portal behind him. Just my opinion though. I would have played him against Tennessee in all honesty. I like Daniels for the most part, but he does some things that are fairly inexcusable for a QB with as much game experience as he has.

Riiiight. Didn’t I just start a thread saying that he improved from Auburn game to Tennessee? What if he takes another positive step against Florida?

BK saw improvement from him, but I guess it only matters what tRant says.

Should have started Nuss against Tennessee because the game was a home game.

Let’s not mention he is still our leading rusher.

Take him out for Nuss & we lose a big part of our offensive production.

I think Daniels should start against Florida because it's a road game & his mobility should have a chance to succeed. If it's another lackluster performance, then Nussmeier should make the start vs. Ole Miss at home.

Not sure I have confidence in either QB thriving at this point & feel like Howard ought to be the starter by mid-November if we haven't seen significant progress at the QB position by that point.

Yeah, then we could be 3-3 and Tennessee could have had some defensive scores as well.

You don't because he won't be taking the helm next year.

It will either be JD again or Walker Howard.

Nuss will likely be gone

If Daniels wont be aggressive with one of the best WR rooms in America, he’s never going to do it. If the same issue is there this week, you have to cut bait.

That he didn't play at all last week should tell you everything you need to know about Nussmeier's position on the team.

Right or wrong, it seems to me that he's the emergency stop gap between Daniels and Howard this season.

If we have a big fat 0 on the scoreboard at halftime of the bama game.

Id give Nuss some series over the next few weeks though.

What quarterbacks have y’all been watching?

I seems extremely evident that JD is still a major step ahead of Nuss on the QB ladder at this point. I don’t understand these calls for swapping them out.

Who is to say we don’t offset that loss by gaining production in the passing game?
