He is a good person from what it seems, and is a good player.

Kid got caught up in a numbers game.

I wish he’d stay because I feel like he’d could really contribute next year. But he has to do whatever is best for himself.

I just hope he transfers out of conference. We don’t need him coming back to haunt us. I wish him the best of luck.

Hate to see this. Was really hoping he’d return. Super talented kid and a great team mate.

Jay gave him every opportunity early in the season, but he just never got it going.

Good kid and was a team player

Just curious, assuming you haven’t, how can you say this without ever spending any time with him behind the scenes or in the dugout?

Man I really hate to see him go. I was pulling for him to get more playing time all year, but completely understand why he didn't. I think he's a damn good player than could've hit .300 in the SEC had he been an everyday player. It's unfortunate our outfield was so crowded this year and potentially next year as well. Wherever he transfers, they're going to be getting a hell of a player.

I'm guessing Stanfield is coming back. He may get drafted, but I don't think the potential is there for Stanfield to get drafted too high. He's a good college player, but I don't think he projects very well to the next level.

He was the one player this year that I really felt bad for. He's a solid player that could be a starter anywhere. But we just had too many options where he couldn't get any consistent PT.

This is not a case of "No Chest" ..he'll be a soild starter for someone all next year. This is the right move for him and I wish him all the best.

She missed a lesson most of us get when our kids are younger. Life isn’t always fair. How you handle situations and disappointments is most of what life is about.

To Butt’s point, he really didn’t. To no one’s fault really since Jay managed the team to a title.

Larson was on the bench to open the season and had 3 or more ABs in 3 games this year.

His ABs were almost all pinch hits, which are difficult. But they were also against right handed pitching.

I hope Stanfield knows he is moving to left field to make room for Curiel in center. Next year will be Curiel’s draft year.

Pretty good indicator that Stanfield will be back next year IMO

Not necessarily.

Tomorrow is the deadline to enter. There probably aren't any assurances he will be a starter next season even if Stanfield doesn't return. He likely wants to enter in order to explore his options. Failing to enter on or before tomorrow would effectively foreclose any other option besides LSU. Stanfield wouldn't have to make his decision for another month or so.

If you will be a third year player with dreams of being drafted relatively high after next season it is imperative that you get on the field. LSU may not be his best opportunity to do so.

To be completely fair, it’s a decent question. People always make up things in their minds about players and just go with it without ever having proof either way. It’s almost like people have preconceived notions about athletes and they’re just willing to say whatever they need to to reaffirm what they THINK

They do it for people they like as well as people they don’t like. And it doesn’t just happen to athletes

Not at all shocked. I got downvoted to hell for saying he was gone before the meat of the season even started.

You said it first? And then you also got down voted?

I feel so bad for you and my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

With Jones leaving, couldn’t he compete for first base?

Too bad. I loved his work as the villain Carl in Ghost.

Part of what made LSU so good this year was how stacked they were with pinch hitting options. Depending on who started you could bring any of Pearson, Brown, Larson, Frey, Reaves. I don’t think LSU has ever been so stacked with pinch hitting options.

With rare exception that alone should be enough to move on. This is big boy ball and mama berating coaches should stop after T Ball.

According to your downvotes it seems nobody on here likes sarcasm or jokes. Apparently you gotta be nothing but serious on here.

Yes, but in his draft year he wants, more or less, a guarantee he'll be starting next year. He can't get that at LSU, regardless of where he plays
