SEC adds LA AG to Federal lawsuit against LSU.
Wow! Just when I thought the story couldn't get any crazier, it does. It also added every member of the LSU Board of Supervisors as defendants. In addition, the SEC didn't like that she sat w/ attorneys for the players and said "Geaux Tigers" to some media members. At every turn this action by the SEC gets even more petty.

What did they expect the LA AG to do? Not support its flagship institution?

I'm sure we can find plenty of documented times when this federal judge, Bama alum, said "roll tide".

Idk if it was the attorneys, the SEC, or Sankey driving the bus on the amended complaint, but that entire section reads like sour grapes. They have three paragraphs pointing out that the La AG made public statements that the federal suit was a sham. She definitely struck a nerve.

At some point you have to think this is all a show. I am really starting to believe the conspiracy theory that this is all to force congress to act. None of it makes sense, and the SEC cannot be this stupid, knowing the massive lawsuits that will come.

The lawsuit points to several other actions Murrill took at last week’s hearing, including saying “Geaux Tigers” to some media members, calling the SEC’s lawsuit “legal garbage” and criticizing SEC commissioner Greg Sankey.

100% proof this about Sankeys feelings being hurt

What in the hell is Sankey doing

It’s like he’s intentionally sabotaging this

One of the strongest arguments for getting this tossed was that the fed court doesn’t have jurisdiction over the state and then he brings the state AG into this?

Ross Dellinger is telling you the root cause issue here if you read between the lines.

A) The SEC is basically acknowledging that the Protect College Sports Act has little to no chance of passing.

Therefore,

B) The SEC is trying to insert control in a potential self governance model moving forward because the NCAA is powerless unless it gets protection from the PCSA.

But really,

C) This is the last ditch effort to protect the cash cow. The only way the SEC can continue to enrich themselves is by refusing to acknowledge the players as professionals which avoids collective bargaining.

Lastly,

D) Lane Kiffin and LSU are throwing a wrench into the already broken machine because he doesn’t care about the unjust enrichment the NCAA, SEC, and schools are profiting. Lane only cares about winning football games and because of that the SEC knows he is on the verge of toppling the already vulnerable system.

That is real reason the SEC is throwing everything at LSU hoping something will stick. The whole business is about to collapse and they know it.

This level of pettiness is completely absurd.

you can't sue LSU direct. But you can sue the BOS, the president and the coach. Which is what they have done.

Which I am trying to recall how that is illegal in anyway?

They are grasping for straws because they thought they could use the Big XII suit against TTech approach when the scenarios are entirely different and the only reason for the suit having legitimacy was the idiot AG of Texas threatening to sue the conference and other members.

I watched a lot of games this weekend but I don’t remember seeing the congress commercial until the LSU game. I know someone will correct me if I’m wrong about that but it’s definitely a bit suspicious.

Playing with fire. The Speaker of the House and Majority Leader are very proud LSU alumni. Anything the SEC supports would be dead for years probably to the further ruin of the sport.

What I can't get my head around, is that LSU was NEVER in any of these suits. It was all the players lol like how is the SEC suing for LSU not breaking any rules or even suing the conference in the first place

Reinforces my mini statements that whoever is giving legal advice to the SEC is an idiot. There is no way in hell this stays in Federal Court in Alabama. I’m making the AG a defendant.
