We would still have everything to play for with playoffs still very much being on the table. Getting Texas and bama at home is vital. Lane Kiffin is an elite coach at home I believe his last two years at ole Miss he only lost 1 home game (Kentucky funny enough ).

If we can handle business vs Miss state and Auburn Death Valley will be shaking. Yes theirs no more margin for error but us losing unironically probably will lead to lane and Blake coaching more free and being more of their true selves. Lane’s lack of aggressiveness at times and Blake’s conservative playcalling have been prob the two most surprising parts of this season so far. Blake’s identity is being aggressive and attacking (sometimes to a fault ) , lane’s identity is being a fearless aggressive playcaller.

Theirs no shame in evolving as a coach but them attempting to evolve their coaching identities indirectly led to 2 of our losses. Wirh our back agaisnt the wall hopefully we consisntrly get the fearless ballsy version of lane and the attack blitz happy version of baker.

I’ll take it now that we already have 2 losses. Everyone was only going to be comfortable being 7-1 going into Bama game. Now we have to run the table.

I just don’t see how miss state and Auburn have the horses to beat lsu

Auburn’s offense is horrific and their defense therefore is gassed by mid 3 q

MSU got blown out by bama

I thought we would lose 3-4 games this year.

We needed to have only 1 loss going to Bama. 6-2 not ideal. Even if we win 2/3 to Tenn Bama or Texas, our season is ruined bc a 3 loss team probably won’t get in.

NO, NO, NO….we knew at beginning of the season, if we wanted to make the playoffs then we needed to split the OL Miss/A&M games and the Bama/Texas games and win all the others. And notice..I said to make the playoffs. I don’t think any realistic fans were even considering a national championship this year, but plenty of us were thinking playoffs were a real possibility.

I knew since this year was rebuilding year we wasn’t going to make the playoffs and my prediction was right 1. after the Kentucky game with weeks, green, spears and couple more players still injured, I knew we would be 4-2 before the Mississippi State game, now lsu should just focus on 1 game at a time and try to be bowl eligible first. 2. We don’t have any rank wins, so even if we did beat Kentucky, still at 0 rank wins we would definitely have to win the Alabama,Texas and Tennessee games just to have a Good resume.

Well, spellcheck wouldn’t have helped with the erroneous “theirs” that were used but it sure would’ve caught many of the other ridiculous misspellings. Maybe OP should’ve used it and/or proofread to save us the time of deciphering his post. Just a little common courtesy. FFS.

Proofreading is a lost art.

Not beating BAMA. They are the best team in the SEC. Got robbed against GA.

LSU hasn’t won on the road in the SEC in almost 2 years.

We can absolutely get to the Alabama game at 6-2. But winning at Auburn is far from a gimme. LSU has had problems winning there forever. Wins, yes, but far from easy.

If we can in fact get to the bye week and the Bama game at 6-2, I like our chances of having TreyDez Green back for that game...possibly Weeks? If we do have those two back for that game, I think LSU stands a greater chance of running the table.

If not, we might be an 8-4 or 9-3 team.

Just a glimmer of hope based on something that happened last year.

An OU team (that I don’t believe is as good as this year’s LSU team) was 6-2, then proceeded to run the table, including wins on the road against Alabama and Tennessee, to make the playoff.
