Jimbo was 10-10 in his last 20 ACC games. For anyone paying attention, this year didn’t expose what wasn’t already evident.

What was he in the 20 before that?

Alabama was 16-8 the 2 years before Saban, that’s avg 8-4, was his 7-6 a “fraud”

Yeah, that’s all they lost to. Fitzgerald looked like a wizard against A&M. What is their quality win, Kentucky? Really? Kentucky’s offense is as bad as LSU’s

They’ve played a harder schedule than LSU has

They only lost 2 other games, if they play The Citadel or Louisville instead of Clemson would they be less of a fraud at 8-3?

Maybe you should read the article. Jimbo is mediocre without an NFL QB. You really going to compare Jimbo to Saban? Jimbo’s record is far, far more comparable to Miles than to Saban.

It's too early to grade Jimbo, but the article is right that he needs a big passer. And he ruined Florida State.

Of course not, I’m just not going to judge him on 1 year at a new place where he is rebuilding, not a total rebuild like LSU circa 2000, but not LSU say 2005 either.

Wow a coach doesn’t win as many games without good players? Stop the presses!!!! I guess that explains why Saban won so many titles at Mich St I suppose it’s beyond the realm of possibility that’s Fisher gets an NFL QB again, I mean Texas hardly ever produces those

I'm not of the opinion that JF is worth the contract............but calling him a fraud in his first season at A&M outs the writer as a retard.

Saban wasn’t 10-10 during any 20 game conference stretch at any point in his career. Miles either. Stop the presses.

I forget did those big passers fall out of the sky or did he you know, recruit them.

He deserves some blame for not leaving as much talent there but there are other issues at Florida St, that’s why he wanted out

he's bringing in his own staff and is changing culture. that is a rebuild.

Not even inheriting a 3-8 team is a rebuild, "true" or otherwise. Every coach brings in his own staff and must change the culture. Saban took an 3-8 team and went 8-4 with mostly the same cast of characters. He definitely changed the culture but there was marked improvement (other than the UAB game.)
Fisher inherited some talent from Sumlin just as Saban did from Dinardo. Jimbo has made incremental improvements at aTm. He is obviously a good coach and you can write him off as easily as the writer does. If he gets aTm to a 10 win season it will be improvement but 75 mil is a lot to pay for those results.

He's not a "fraud." He's a good coach, period. He ain't "dominating the SEC post Saban."

The judgement on Jimbo will take time, but he was not given a bad team:
Mond is the #3 DT QB and is returning with experience - He had 230+ yards vs Bama @Bama last year
Williams ran for over 1000 yards (6.8ypc) as a FR - JR this year
Ausbon - 4/5 star WR

Very good front 7 D and Elko is a great DC

Under Sumlin they never wo fewer than 8 games before 2017 and likely would have last year until it became known he was a lame duck HC.

It won't get easier for him in 2019. He gets:
@Clemson
Bama
@UGA
@LSU
He could lose all 4 of those plus another unlikely game like Miss St or Auburn.

Jimbo is in a similar spot to O. Win this game and fans and Admin are very satisfied with trajectory. Lose and LSU fans feel we aren't getting any better and Jimbo going 7-5 shows no improvement from Sumlin days. O likely has more pressure, but don't think aggieland won't get very uneasy if they lose at home and drop another game with the 75m dollar man (cue the 6 Million Dollar Man theme - inflation of course).

*Yes I'm old and used to watch The 6 Million Dollar Man as a kid.

In many talent rankings FSU is actually ranked 5th or higher.

That offensive line is in shambles but they're pretty loaded everywhere else.

Jimbo before his first season is even done - “Aggie messed up, run him out of town, he sucks”
Ed Orgeron on year 3 at LSU - “It’s still his first season baw give him time”

Never change Rant. Never change.

well Miles was 10-10 against the sEC West (15-11 in the SEC overall) his last 3+ years.

Not at all the same thing. Jimbo played the bottom of the ACC too and was 10-10. You can’t cherry pick the best teams out.

ETA: Saban and Miles never gave up 63 to anyone, either.
