Jimbo was 10-10 in his last 20 ACC games. For anyone paying attention, this year didn’t expose what wasn’t already evident.

his first season in a true rebuild. he's recruiting at a high level and will have them playing at a high level soon.

Coming off of 8 and 7 win seasons is not a “true rebuild”.

He lost to:
Clemson
Bama
Miss State (road game)
Auburn (road game)

How many of those games was TAMU supposed to win in his first year?

Seems maybe a bit premature. That said, I still can't believe his contract.

This. Anyone who has watched Sumlin's aTm compared to this year can see the progress. Regardless of record or future recruits. And the future recruits are good.

Trying to say that Fisher is a fraud and won't be successful at a program with limitless resources is either a homer from UT or the SEC, or is just looking for clicks. Either way, it's bad journalism.

agreed. Fisher's a very good coach and has A&M playing well already. Another couple years of elite recruiting and I'm afraid we'll see them make a big jump up.

I don't get the Jimbo hate -- other than he turned us down. If he'd have taken the LSU job, we'd all be giddy right now.

ETA, two of their losses are to the two best teams in the country, and they almost beat Clemson. They had Auburn beat on the road, but gave it away at the end. THey're playing well, to all honest folks paying attention.

aTm has also had arguably the most difficult schedule in college football.

I'm not saying he's guaranteed to be successful, I'm just saying you can't really judge too much off of this year. He's recruiting at a high level as well. I didn't judge O too harshly in his first year (except the loss to Troy). I do the same with all other coaches as well. Don't lose to cupcakes, make a bowl, recruit at a high level. That's usually what's judged most in a coaches first year.

Noting the shite show he left behind at FSU is definitely in play and I can understand people using that as a factor. I'm just not putting final judgement on Jimbo yet.

I'm not saying Jimbo is the answer at A&M. In fact I don't think he is, but judging his performance before his first season is done is pre-premature.

That can be said about every coaching change. The truth is, A&M is getting more of what they have had for the last many years. The only difference is that they are paying a lot more for it.

Yeah, that’s all they lost to. Fitzgerald looked like a wizard against A&M. What is their quality win, Kentucky? Really? Kentucky’s offense is as bad as LSU’s.
