If we don’t beat Arky, we’re very likely going 0-7 in January with remaining games @TAMU @BAMA vs.AUB.

Arky is 0-3, but they lost to #1, #23 and #8. The game is likely going to be a pick’em or Arkansas as a slight favorite.

When will Trey'Dez get on the court and hoepfully give us a little more of a physical presence? Will Williams see more playing time or maybe even start? Can those two things get us over the hump to maybe steal a few wins we don't expect?

I'm a little hesitant to start hoping but dang if they won't pull me in the first time that looks even a little like a difference maker

100% always my man.

Asking football players or baseball players to save the team is never a good start.

ETA: You're going to get this one.

Cal will do great things at Arkansas. Hog fans need to be patient.

Don't let Arky's record fool you. They're a darn good basketball team with a home win vs Michigan and @ Miami.

Of course anything can happen, but Arkansas is a better team than LSU. I think they'll win by 10-15 points

will Trey'Dez get on the court

L*rd I hope not. We need him on the field this fall, not on the court of a plug-ugly team twisting ankles and possibly breaking a leg

We need to show we can adjust to the book on us, which is get all up on us and physical and we back down. We can talk all we want about how we just don't have the guys, but the guys we have can play better - I think both things can be and are true.

But they need some help. We need to find another way to play against the game plan on us or the struggles will continue. It's a game of adjustments.

Arky opens at -2 on DK. Btw, game tonight is 8pm.

Lots of intriguing SEC matchups tonight, State @ AUB, TAMU @ UK, Ole Miss @ Bama - All top 25 matchups.

State @ AUB

IMO, that's the most interesting game of the group. Auburn is #1 in the nation, but just lost the frontrunner for SEC POY for the foreseeable future. Some might say that loss is second only to LSU's loss of Jalen Reed which took those Tigers from Final Four contender to the bottom of the SEC. Let's see if Pearl can adjust.

State is good again this year, but they had a pretty light opening week in SEC play. Home against South Carolina, @ Vanderbilt. The first member of the top half of the SEC they played, Kentucky, was a home loss in Starkville.

Jans has been a solid coach with two NCAA Tournament appearances. Ironically, he only has a .500 SEC winning % and hasn't been great on the road in conference (6-13 overall). If State is ever going to take the next step under him getting a win tonight would be a HUGE in that regard.

But do we really not have the guys?

Basiletiger, in is effort to constantly bash the program/players, actually backed into proving maybe LSU's talent isn't as weak as everyone wants to argue. In arguing LSU has no talent he cited LSU's overall (freshman + transfers)/transfer class as being ranked 22/63 (on 247) last season. He also bemoaned how LSU has nothing but mid-major transfers.

But then you look at the current No. 1 team in the nation, Auburn. Using those EXACT same metrics you see their overall/transfer rank was 18/54. Four of their 6 leading scorers are either mid-major transfers or JUCO/D-II players. Their roster only has three (3) players who were rated as 4 star recruits in their HS class. Compare that to LSU's which has six (6) such players...and that does NOT include Ward and Reed.

So is the "talent gap" between the #1 team in the country and LSU, who may struggle to win 2-3 SEC games this year, really that "vast"? Or is this really not that weak of a roster and the struggles can be attributed so something else?
