It wears on them. I'm 44 and have been working from home since Mid March and I get stir crazy on the regular.
Quit bashing these kids.
No doubt. And comparing kids to other programs in other cities is absolutely stupid. Every situation and student athlete is different.
I have no idea if it's true or not. But I'm absolutely giddy at the mere idea of his mama coming here and cookin him some of his favorite vittles and telling him to stick it out.

That's a good mama. He's lucky to have one like that.

From somebody in school through Covid, I feel for Arik and the rest of the freshmen. It sucks man. You can’t have anything else to look forward to just to get your mind off of everything going on for even a little bit. I understand not wanting somebody to quit and he shouldn’t, but this is a much tougher year on people mentally then a lot of people want to take into account.

Also James Franklin made similar reports. Said he hasn’t lived with his family since like the spring or something and is not coping well. This is a real thing.

but man, this is a kid.
Give me a break. Nobody's asking him to storm the beach at Normandy or set up camp in a jungle in Southeast Asia. Some team is going to decide whether to select him and pay him millions of dollars in about 28 months. He's not going to have any choice where that will be and sure as hell won't be pampered by that employer. At what point, before then, does he plan to act like a grown up?

Good.
We need to move him to WR.
Kids get homesick, it happens I take it as he had a great supportive upbringing.

What proof do you have

Stop saying this. 99.999999% of college football players are at least 18 yrs old. Old enough to vote or die in a war. They may be young adults, but they aren't kids anymore. Hell, some of them already have kids of their own. Stop treating them like kids.

What’s he going to do when he gets drafted by Green Bay? Or Cleveland?

Just shows he has a close family. Lighten up people. For many, college is the first time away from your parents.
Yeah I tend towards this IF home sickness is the real reason. Means he has a really supportive family and this is a really lonesome year to be a college student much less a college athlete.
His mom could be selfish and egg it on to get him home.

I don't know the situation, but I won't mock the young man. Not all kids handle leaving home for the first time well.
I do hope he stays. Despite the problems this season, LSU is a proven commodity in grooming players for the NFL. Stick it out and stay the course, Arik!

He would start this Sunday if he was on the Browns or Packers.

I am sure he did not want that to become public knowledge. That sucks

Damn these softies can’t handle being away from mommy while playing college football? shite I was homesick while stationed in Vietnam, and guess what, there wasn’t a damn thing I could do about it.
This generation needs to learn that you can’t always get what you want and sometimes you just gotta grow a pair and toughen it out

Vol posted lasted night that Gilbert was already back home in Georgia. Ordinarily I think the guy is full of shite but if Gilbert is taking online courses I would doubt he is still in BR.

By definition, 18 may be an adult with adult consequences, but mentally and emotionally most of the 18 year olds I've known are not close to being "adult". That includes 18-19 year old soldiers.

Arik probably was given a lump sum of money to attend LSU. If he can’t figure out how to not be homesick and get some pussy to fill his time. He should just leave and go home.
