If true, this decision just doesn’t make much sense to me. Even further from home and sit out one year? I’d go to a closer school and play immediately. The NFL will find you wherever you are.
Gilbert wanted UGA or Tenn in my opinion. Once the tampering rumor spread, I bet Kirby backed off and we saw how things played out at Tenn. instead of staying at LSU, he had to keep the show going and transferred to UF.

He’s gonna make up some shite ala the Georgia to Ohio state qb

I figured he'd go to Georgia which is 79 miles from Marietta. Florida is 359 miles from Marietta and LSU is 200 more then that. He's going there because they'll let him smoke weed. Hope we plow this kid over

Anyone that allows this man to bend the rules is doing him a disservice. He has been told no from no one. He needs to learn. It also sends the wrong message to all other players wanting to do the same thing.

I’ll be just fine with the tiger football players that stuck it out. They played better anyway without him.

This is one of those rare times where LSU fans will get to say I told you so on a transfer player

I just assume beat his arse immediately.

So if UF is made to comply with current rules (big if), at most he plays one year for them as he will for sure will be in the draft three years out of high school.

It’s nice to see this board not cradling his balls for a change

If he sits out this year (I don't think he will have to), and has a big year 3, there is zero chance he doesn't opt out half way into it.

He was the cancer of the team last year. Thank god he is leaving. The reason he isn’t going to Georgia is because Kirby Smart couldn’t guarantee him a certain amount of targets.
Arik is a self centered, selfish player.

Gilbert's ticket to a waiver could be if the NCAA comes down any harsher on the football program than we already have, other than that, no idea why he would be immediately eligible.

I think he wants to sit. I don’t think he wants to play college ball. He sits next year, doesn’t have to worry about injury then balls out his junior year, gets a high draft pick and is off to the NFL. I don’t think he cares about LSU or Florida or any school. He is a me player.
