You would think having 4 spots available to compete for a NC would increase our odds. It will need to expand to 8 for CLM to get us there.

IMO Keep existing staff and Miles in place with one exception: a new OC with a passing background incorporated into our pro-style offense. The new OC should be picked by committee and have assistant head coaching responsibilities. In other words, force Miles to give the new OC drastic increases in play calling.

You're looking simply at stars. There is more to recruit than that and Miles has failed time and time again.

He doesn't recruit the players that run the scheme he wants to run and depth has been an issue for years. He knows when he has classed that will have a lot of early departures and its up to him to do something about it.

I think everyone is very serious. People are fed up with the results on the field. Nice man, good heart and all that. But we want to win championships and he is getting further and further because he does not know what to do anymore.

Uh, there needs to be at least two exceptions: new OC and a special teams coach that isn't a complete retard.

We tried that. Miles is on his 11th year and his OCs have all end up with the same problems because Miles won't give up control of the offense.

If we do change OCs, it needs to come from above Miles' head and it needs to be clear that this OC is not a puppet and must have control. Miles needs to retire soon if not fired.

Miles would once again take over the special teams. BDP can fill the coolers.

I wonder if Arthur Ray Briles would be interested in moving to Baton Rouge ?

CLM idea of alternative plan is to run right instead of left

Reminds me of the old cheer when Charlie Mac was the coach:

'round the right
'round the left
up the middle
punt!

So what you are saying is accept the fact we will rarely if ever beam ALA-

This means we accept we may rarely if ever win the west, SECCG and a NC.

So you are willing to be just a good program not the best program?

Well LSU fans accepted it for about 50 years. I don't think a 5 year stretch would kill us.

The real question is are you serious?

If you can't coach the players, I doesn't matter how good of a recruiter you are. I'd actually question his recruiting ability...There's a lack of overall depth a key positions on the team, and he doesn't do a good job of guarding home base and keeping in state talent at home.

He's got some of the highest paid assistant coaches in the country. Who else do you want? They're all hand picked by Miles!

I'd take Saban, but not sure if that's realistic... They can take their pick and get whoever they want within reason though... Either way The Tigers better wake up before this train runs off the tracks.

To be fair, 'that' hasn't really changed since 2009.

Miles had an NFL OC (Cameron) and a first-round talent in Mettenberger ... and, in '13, the team had a pretty good offensive attack. They lost 3 games, however.

There are only two scenarios where this ends well: Miles gracefully retires, saying nothing but good things about LSU after he's gone ... or Miles gets an OC/HCIW and agrees to retire in 1-2 years.

Otherwise? Les Miles is one of the most popular figures in American sports, and LSU will be the college that ran him out of town. That's not an ideal position to be in.

I agree.I say we just ride it out. Maybe see if Les is open to hiring an OC/DC we can groom for the future HC position like FSU did.

Losing 60% of our West games over the last couple of seasons is such a distraction.

You do realize that people outside of Baton Rouge laugh at his quirks and blunders right?

I'd go after Dabo first then Lane. Two young coaches that are getting better and better.
