I have been in LSU football fan for my entire life. It’s one of the reasons I attended the university. What I’ve still been in LSU fan for all these years if say Alabama paid me $10,000 a year to be in Alabama fan. Is there a price that would get you to become a fan of another team?

It is a perfect storm. These kids and their agents are getting rich off the loyalty and built up infrastructure of college football. It’s brilliant but will ultimately kill the sport.

I hear that from alot of people . It is like an NFL farm system with no rules whatsoever .

For the teams and fans of said teams it’s not “paying off” for, yes. I feel that way about football.
I also love baseball, and love what it has/is doing for us. But, stop winning while paying out and having to learn a new team each and every year, yes.
I chuckled when they said something along the lines, after the OSU-Miami game of “Beck has the heart of a true Miami Hurricane” haha, wtf. The same guy that was a Dawg this time last year????

Yes. It’s not about the average fan any more. It’s about our billionaire boosters versus yours. I just about totally lost interest, but now we have Lane. Bad time to walk away.

And Oklahoma State has 41 players entering the portal. It’s lunacy.

Feel sorry for my kids that the will never know what a truly beautiful thing SEC football once was. We watch more NFL now. It is a more compelling product than the NFL lite that CFB has become.

not according to t.v. rantings.
With old get off the lawn guys like me, yeah. I don't watch near as much as I used to - but honestly that was trending even before NIL.

If everyone wants the craziest to stop all that has to be done is stop giving money to pay for the foolishness. It’s up to us.

I could care less about bowl games and playoffs right now.
How much less could you care?
If you're trying to say it doesn't matter it's I couldn't care less.
Still love LSU, like the playoffs The bowls don't really care much about. They should change the bowls to like an NIT format.
And they need a commissioner and a "salary cap" or Luxury Tax. So if each team can spend 20 million and like Texas you go to 50 Million you pay a 50 percent tax that's distributed to the teams that don't make the playoffs or something like that

Yup. There was more eyeballs and time spent watching college football than ever before. That’s what they care about. They don’t care about the passionate fans like the ones on this board. Because at the end of the day, most of those passionate fans are still going watch.

The only way to make it stop is if the fans quit supporting college football, which I don’t see happening. I have definitely lost my passion for football.

Totally with you…. Sports, in general, is no longer a priority for me or my network of friends.
There’s many other way I enjoy using my time.

Personally, speaking for myself the answer is no.
But across the board I say it is having an effect.
Fandom is based primarily on star power and players on your team. It takes both, not just the team. While you may be die hard fan of your team, it will take the form of focusing on star players.
When those players move from your team you are still an fan of the team, but without that player to focus on that energy 'dissipates'. Sometimes a little, sometimes a lot.
