Chase Goodbread ?Verified account @ChaseGoodbread More from Mayock: Believes LSU pass rusher Arden Key could fall as late as the fourth or fifth round.

I already called that on LSU pro day. Hurt his draft stock too much this past year. Would have been better off staying one more year than have a poor showing during the year, then also do so poorly at the combine and pro day. Not running at the combine put it all on the line at pro day and he failed. Ultimately his off the field issues were too much to overcome. Whoever is giving this young man advice needs to do a better job, or he needs to find new advisers. Hopefully he gets his shite together in the pros. If he does, a team will get a nice surprise in the late rounds. Maybe the Saints get him on day 2 or 3, he's visited with them an awful lot this spring.

Can't coach desire. Just doesn't look like he has what it takes to succeed in the NFL.

I still think he'll be alright. Highly doubt he falls to the fourth or fifth rd.

To be honest, his problems seem to be self inflicted. His worth ethic appears to resemble that of Jamarcus Russel.

Perfect pick in Rd 3 for Saints if they don't address pass rusher with 1st round pick

See Randy Gregory for a cautionary tale on drafting kids with weed problems. I know every case is different, but the fact that Key stepped away for a long time, came back out of shape and didn't perform well at the combine makes him a huge risk. But, day 3 is made for high risk, high reward players.

I say his ceiling is the third round. He has just as many question marks as TM7 did and that’s where he went.

He also didn’t disappear for long stretches during a game because he was lazy.

He did it to himself and I do not feel sorry for him in any way. Hopefully he will make the right choices from here on out.

He has shown in the past he can be motivated and work hard.

I think If he gets back to that nothing can stop him.

Needs to be in the right situations.

People act like he didn’t set the world on fire 2/3 years.

Hope you are wrong, but very afraid you are dead on - “sabbaticals” really do not sit well at the next level

Drafting a 3-4 OLB in the 3rd round to a team that runs a 4-3 makes little to no sense.

This draft is thin on defensive ends. He will be picked earlier than most think he will.

The crazy thing with his whole situation is that he and his dad worked his arse off prior to his freshman year to have him ready to play when he showed up and campus as a freshman. I never thought we’d have to worry about him working hard. I guess without his dad holding his hand he wasn’t able to self motivate to work like that. Especially after his confidence was through the roof after a successful sophomore season.

And to think there are people who debate that marijuana is not significant. I guess it's not unless you're trying to get a job

No way he falls past round 2. He may be falling on some draft boards but all it takes is one team. Someone will take him and I hope it is the Saints. He may have his issues but he has rare talent as a pass rusher.

He made the conservative decision.

He knows full well now that every snap could be the last.

He will get a contract.
Yes, if he returned and played a key role in talking down Bama, he'd be a top 10 pick and worth millions to stay in.
He's getting past go. He's collecting more than the minimum. Let the chips fall where they may. If he's healthy 6 or 8 years, he can retire.
