Arden Key should have came back for his senior year, proved that he was the player that he was his sophomore year. If he showed he has indeed grew up and got over the issues he had he would have put himself right back in the top 10.

The kid got terrible advice. But with all that said, I'm not sure he is capable of even doing all that. He more than likely won't be heard from again with in a couple of years.

I have seen people smoke weed and function normal and achieve high success for sure. I have also witnessed more or a higher percentage simply stall using weed along with alcohol. I never mentioned alcohol and was commenting on weed as this is Key's addiction.

Quit justifying weed as good, it is not good as is alcohol used in excess.

Key lives in Louisiana or goes to school here and it is illegal. College football and pro football do not allow this substance and if you want to make million a year you simply have to abide by their rules.

I think he is a 4th or 5th round pick.
The guy should have come back to LSU for his Sr. season.

It isn’t significant. He’s just a pussy. Hope he gets it together.

At the end of the day it really doesn't matter if it is legal or not in a particular state or nationally....fact is that the NFL along with practically every other business has employee policies that prohibit use of controlled substances including both alcohol and weed, etc. Right or wrong in a legal stance, if a person wants employment within a certain industry or company they must abide by their rules and requirements.

Arden Key, Antonio Callaway, Randy Gregory, Rolando McClain, Ricky Williams, etc. etc. simply don't or didn't have the desire to make a sacrifice on a recreational pleasure for a professional career choice. No different than a DOT driver, equipment operator, doctor, or whatever failing a random drug/alcohol test and losing their license to work in a chosen field...other than in this case it is costing them MILLIONS and cutting into what is already a pretty short term career opportunity.

I say his ceiling is the third round. He has just as many question marks as TM7 did and that’s where he went.

Key hasn’t shown an ounce of the character or passion that TM7 showed in turning things around after being kicked off the team at LSU. Night and day as far as I’m concerned.

With Key getting an addiction, shoulder surgery, and returning at less than 80% ready to play....I don’t see how any of you equate those factors into being lazy and loss of passion for the game. If anything, returning too early says that he wanted to be in the field. Try running around and playing against 300 lbs lineman with a post operation shoulder and see how it feels. Then the kid gets a knee injury after returning, I think he’s got more in him than the fan base gives him credit for.

He is a repeat of Sam Montgomery and many other third year players
who had a great sophomore year and are lead to believe they are
guaranteed a high draft spot.

While some eventually get it together, most do not. I look at what Todd Gurley
said after blowing out his knee his junior year. Something to the effect that he
only knew how to play one way and ffelt if he changed that for fear of being hurt,
that he might lose that edge forever.

Sam didn’t have near the natural pass rushing ability that Key possesses, but we shall see what happens down the road.

did you watch him play? Less than 100% effort much of the time.

And it absolutely IS lazy to return overweight. I didn't know rehab and shoulder surgery causes a dramatic weight gain.

Who knew?

Perfect pick in Rd 3 for Saints if they don't address pass rusher with 1st round pick

the saints don't have a 2nd round pick, so round 3 is going to be their 2nd pick. I think Key is to risky a pick in the 3rd for the saints with their limited picks this year. Now if he is still there in the 4th, perhaps take him, if you feel you can burn a pick. He could wind up being a steal in the 4th if he gets back on, what ever he was on as a freshman and sophmore, when he was faster and stronger and more aggressive.

Afraid I have to agree at this point. So afraid he would get it together, have a great year & slip back to old “habits. The last thing any youngster with a history is to put a few weekly five figure paychecks on the bank. Not saying he has not turned it around, certainly hope he has, but the reason he has fallen from a round 1 given.

Sincerely wish this Tiger the best.

Maybe now when i say he was a lazy POS and in rehab my posts won't get deleted. He was given ample time and full freedom to continue working out during rehab but he chose not to.
