No way man. MANY worse coordinators get much better HC gigs.

I question what the hell he's thinking here.

Just in the SEC you've got Kirby, pruit, Muschamp(UF) etc.

Those are top 15 jobs in the nation.....UNLV?????

He's called The Professor by his players, i.e. he is no party animal & can be found in his office watching film late at night. Las Vegas' lifestyle would be meaningless to him. Too, he is very much into his family & it has been stated several times how much the kids love B.R. Would you move your family to Vegas for its "family friendly atmosphere? Piggies are saying they were turned down by 6 candidates. Are you telling me Dave Aranda did not make their top 7 list? No way he takes that big of a pay cut, Nevada's taxes or not. Now if Coach O is behind this, mabe. But this close to the early signing date?

One has to wonder what this does to the rest of the DC staff. Not that any were wanting to leave but in a vacuum that might get antsy not knowing if the new DC may want to bring in new bodies.

Example Orgeron having to apologize after the Ole Miss game, talking about how he got involved in the playcalling of the defense.

You have a link for this?

you give up the big play and allow the opposing offense to score. But either way, you get your defense off the field and prevent the horrible time-of-possession disparity

Aranda wouldn't blitz. He didn't want to change his defensive philosophy to fit the needs of our new offense. It didn't work.

It’s made up, Orgeron talked about the defensive issues after Bama then Ole Miss but took all of the blame off of Aranda and never said he got involved. He blamed the issues on player mistakes, health and depth and took some of the blame himself. But one thing he emphasized over and over was that Aranda was not the problem.

Remember that 4th down play Texas scored on?

What was that? Rhymes with glitz.

He isn’t going to live on the strip. Do you know how big Vegas is?

Well they will be playing in the brand new Raiders stadium so there is that. So maybe some booster is smart and has a five year plan to make UNLV like UCF or South Florida

Anyway. My only suggestion is hurry up.

Dude Vegas has a pretty normal suburban surrounding area and outdoor activities. That's like saying you'd spend all your time on Bourbon if you lived in New Orleans.

Aranda's defense early in the season was "allow the offense to slowly matriculate the ball down the field" and "hope they make a mistake." With our quick-strike offense, it meant that our defense was on the field all game and dead tired by the end. It's why we always had teams scoring on us late.

We were way too talented a defense to give up the points that we gave up to teams like Texas, Vandy, and Ole Miss. Aranda's defensive philosophy doesn't work for a Joe Brady offense. Good grief! I thought this was obvious to anyone who watched the games this year.

Either Coach O asked him to leave, or he's leaving because he doesn't want to run the kind of defense that he has to run to be successful here.

no he definitely said he called a defensive line stunt on Ole Miss's first drive of the second half and took blame for it.

But that’s the exact opposite of what you said. You said O got involved after the failures of Ole Miss now you’re saying he was part of the Ole Miss debacle.
