Once again the message board never disappoints. Everybody on the rant could do AT's job better than him. We get it

Way to deflect. Thats not what i said. I asked if we are better off now, than we were then. Its an easy answer that you can't seem to admit. LSU has analysts that are more important to the success of a football program that Austin Thomas would be. I don't see how even just this year alone you can dispute that. Saban AND Orgeron appear to agree with me, with the way their staffs look.

Guy keeps getting major CFB jobs and fans on an LSU message board don't think he is useful or talented. Lol

Please tell me you don't think getting job after job means squat related to ability! Have you not watched the carousel of coaches in the NFL over the years. Guys fail...they get fired and then hired...they fail again and get fired and then hired by someone else. The NFL and colleges have more retreads than Bandag. 3 of my favorites are Chip Kelly, Kevin Sumner, and Charley Strong. And who can forget that living legend Charlie Weiss. For God's sake, please don't use getting major jobs as being a vindication for ability. It is the good old boy's network, pure and simple!

Give it to Aranda, he is putting together a pretty good staff...especially for Baylor

Well that and the fact that Eaux did not even replace Thomas. That is all a person with a smidgeon of common sense would need.

He was good, but he burned bridges with LSU. We have done just fine without him. Everyone can be replaced with someone better.

I'm ok with saying both Thomas and Pomansky are utterly useless.

Austin Thomas pulled two 5 star guys from Tennessee that started this year for LSU. Maybe you’ve heard of Jacoby Stevens & Jacob Phillips lol

How does this guy have connections to almost EVERY SEC coach it seems? Never has a major role but constantly getting weird job offers. Must suck a whole lot of dick.

Remember a lot of people here wanting him to be named AD.
There’s quite a long list of things people here wanted. Most looking back were dumb as shite. Glad there’s professionals handling the football program.

sounds like a you problem. Thomas is clearly very good. Do you know who else was on the payroll at LSU when we had depth issues on the lines?

Based on what? Our roster management was worse when he was here, and has improved since he left. He threw a hissy fit and left UT over his job title, and was at A&M for like 19 months, and A&M looks to have regressed from a talent standpoint in that time. I know he is supposedly some recruiting wunderkind, but I think that is a reputation that is not earned.

Where is the proof of his value?

You could have a hundred Austin Thomas' and still couldn't convince top talent to come to Waco, T
well, except for RG3, who won the Heisman. And all the other talent that Art Briles brought it (as slimy as that was).

Austin Thomas did that? No one else might have been a tad more important in recruiting those guys?

am I the only one that thinks his job has very little to do with actual recruiting? Am I wrong about that.

I would guess that he's just an administrator. The coaches recruit. He might help assemble lists of prospects for the coaches to evaluate, but do we honestly think this guy has any substantial impact on recruiting?

JaCoby Stevens family is from Crowley. His grandparents still live there.

"Stevens hails from Crowley, La., and has family ties to both that part of the state as well as Baton Rouge, La."

“I consider myself a Louisianan,” Stevens said. “People ask me that all of the time — Louisiana or Tennessee? I was born in Tennessee, but I have Louisiana blood flowing through my veins. If you ask me, I’ll always claim Crowley, Louisiana.”

Austin Thomas gave JaCoby that Louisiana blood, not his family. Thank god A. Thomas is a Louisiana boy and was able to convince JaCoby to come home. (This is sarcasm for the Rantards)

Jacob Phillips was flipped from OU with two days left before signing day by Eaux. Players don't usually commit to a school because of a secretary. Unless she is REALLY HOT and putting out. Austin Thomas is not hot.
