I guess that some will complain the bar is still getting $3.00, but it's kind of fun thing for a bar to do.

Incorrect. Buying Jell-O shots for tiger fans who would buy Jell-O shots on their own defeats the purpose. 1 shot given away is one less shot bought for the tigers.
Now, giving shots away to opposing fans helps lsu win. 1 shot given away is one less shot bought for the opposition.
