All the defense needed to get was one stop to make it a 7 point game. If Daniels was still in, I believe were in that game til the very end

would have been a one score game. The pressure would still be on them. One mistake and we are tied up.. it mattered.. a lot

The infuriating thing is Bama was targeting our QB while House wasn't even spying theirs.

I’m glad he feels that way, but him being in there isn’t going to make the defense get a stop.

Gives us a chance to win in a shootout

”That still burns me,” Daniels said,”Obviously we lost to a very good team, but I felt like it would have been a whole different story if I was in there.”

Not sure how anyone except bama fans could see it any other way. Heck tamu went up by two scores in the second half and the defense looked incompetent all game. We won by double digits and mercy kneed at the end. In the bama game all it takes is the defense putting it together for one solitary drive and this offense can tie the game up to go to OT. We had the ball with Daniels down 2 scores starting the fourth. the drive following Daniels getting hurt we got a stop. Even with the team deflated. Granted play calling changes so it’s really impossible to know but this season we were right there at the brink.

It’s weird because technically last years team achieved “more” but I feel like even with the defensive issues we were much closer to the elite teams than last years.

I was at the Tennessee game and we got run off the field. Georgia was ugly also. Tamu loss was inexcusable.

Despite the final scores

FSU was a one score game entering the fourth and that’s with going for it in 4th down TWICE in the redzone and getting zero points in the first half.

Ole miss we had a walk off TD hit off a receivers hands to end the game on the road.

Bama we already covered.

Saban 100 percent told him to do it. They don't tell you to 'hurt' them specifically, they'll say 'take him out of the game'.

Tons of coaches do it. Even when I played in high school our coaches would tell us to take the QB out of the game.

Second, an OL retaliating, while understandable, is stupid and accomplishes nothing
it would make me feel better.

dumb on defense to retaliate

I’d argue too dumb on offense. I would have been ok with someone rolling Turner’s knee ending his season. It’s obvious he plays that way and would have been deserving of it.

Has any team retaliated that Turner did that to?

Saban ALWAYS targets the opposing QB.

He definitely orders it when he knows he can't stop the opposing offense. Colt McCoy 2009, Quinn Ewers 2022, Joe Burrow 2018, Jayden Daniels 2023 were all on the hit list.

Crazy thing is I think he would have stayed in the game if his mom wasn’t there. Daniels is a fricking warrior on the field.

Our defense would not allow us to win that game. How do you win a game win you are behind on points and Your defense keeps allowing more? We could have scored 90 points and Tgey could have scored 100. People being mad at Bama is a waste of energy. It’s not like our defense was just kinda bad. They were down bad. Our defense let us down. The defensive staff let them down. LSU is the reason LSU is not in the playoffs. Period.

FWIW most ppl who achieve the level of success Saban has reached are sociopaths. It's kind of impossible to get to where he has been when remorse or guilt plays a part in your decision making.

No, psychopath is the right word. A lot of very successful people are psychopaths.

After the hit:

12 quarters

1,020 yards passing and 13 TDs
450 yards rushing and 4 TDs
150 points scored

Yeah, it burned him.

It burned him for THAT game because he didn't get to play the 4th quarter...he DT makes a proper tackle and not come in purposely high in an effort to knock him out of the game, JD is not in concussion protocol the rest of the game...

The game was already over when Daniels was knocked out.

We were down 14 with 12:54 left and had the ball on 1st down. Bama never scored again and LSU had already scored on drives taking 2:42, 4:05, 0:56, and 3:46.

In what dream world is that game over?

The other side of this question is, how Alabama continued with a full starting roster with the no call and how that did not affect what they were doing and winning.

This is the same team that benefited from LSU losing a starting lb for their game with LSU.

If we keep scoring it puts pressure on their offense and they might make a mistake. We'll never know what the outcome would have been in an alternate scenario.
